Another little John Kerry Vietnam story. See if you can detect why it's another Kerry lie.

Do you have any pets that have made an impact on you personally? Kerry: I have always had pets in my life and there are a few that I remember very fondly. When I was serving on a swiftboat in Vietnam, my crewmates and I had a dog we called VC. We all took care of him, and he stayed with us and loved riding on the swiftboat deck. I think he provided all of us with a link to home and a few moments of peace and tranquility during a dangerous time. One day as our swiftboat was heading up a river, a mine exploded hard under our boat. After picking ourselves up, we discovered VC was MIA. Several minutes of frantic search followed after which we thought we'd lost him. We were relieved when another boat called asking if we were missing a dog. It turns out VC was catapulted from the deck of our boat and landed confused, but unhurt, on the deck of another boat in our patrol.

They were looking around frantically, that boat with the catapulted dog would be right there.Don't buy it. Everyone knows that all Vietnam servicemen grooved to Jimi Hendrix and The Doors and smoked mind-boggling quantities Mekong Mind-F*** (don't you watch the movies?). They'd never hear each other above the racket.

Did you hear that story from NY Times that Rush was referencing today about Kerry's Christmas reminiscences of Christmas in Cambodia. Kerry was talking about getting shot at by the Khmer Rouge and having been sent by Nixon. It turns out that at time, of course, Nixon wasn't president and the Khmer Rouge weren't a fighting force. Ha ha ha ha. Busted again.

If this is a true story told by sKerry, it sinks the claim that if the Swift Boat Vets were not on his boat they did not serve with him and could not have seen what was happening on his boat. Because there is no way a dog could be thrown 100+ feet and survive landing on the deck of another boat, or 50 feet for that matter.
Plus in Vietnam dogs are in the food chain.

We should embrace this story as true. The holy grail of truth. It should be quoted every time a liberal hack says they didn't serve with Kerry or they were over a football field away.
Oh No? Well Kerry says the boats were close enough for his dog to jump over to the boat next to his. How close is that?
According to Kerry's own lies they served together.

The SwiftVets need to make sure this is publicized. Good observation.

"I'm having trouble picturing our sailors calling "Here, VC! Come here, VC!" in the middle of a mined river in enemy territory..."
ROFL!!
As a side note, when my brother was in 'Nam with the Army (66-67), they had a puppy named "Claymore."

If the other boat was close enogh for the dog to land on it then it was close enough to be within shouting range at best. There goes Lanny Davis' argument

VC is an acronym, to be polite, for Viet Cong. Since dogs are a man's best friend, who named this mutt VC?
I smell another pantload of bullshit.

I think a mine exploding so close and with such force as to launch a dog onto another boat, would have probably sunk or severely damaged Kerry's boat. Why wouldn't they be scrambling around to look for damage and casualties?
To: Jim_Curtis
Oh Jim, coffee from my nose.
Did Kerry shoot VC in the back after it was wounded.

It looks to be a question of timing. Kerry describes frantically searching for a time BEFORE the other swiftboat meets them. To believe Kerry's account, you would have to believe that the dog was catapulted many yards, out of view and earshot, from Kerry's boat.
To: Jim_Curtis
It's all a lie because that dog became dog chow for the 30" walking piranhas that populate the Mekong delta.

How about;
A blast that knocked the dog off the ship would have knocked the sailors off to? Being closer to the deck a dog would be harder to knock off a ship then a person...
