Do you have any pets that have made an impact on you personally? Kerry: I have always had pets in my life and there are a few that I remember very fondly. When I was serving on a swiftboat in Vietnam, my crewmates and I had a dog we called VC. We all took care of him, and he stayed with us and loved riding on the swiftboat deck. I think he provided all of us with a link to home and a few moments of peace and tranquility during a dangerous time. One day as our swiftboat was heading up a river, a mine exploded hard under our boat. After picking ourselves up, we discovered VC was MIA. Several minutes of frantic search followed after which we thought we'd lost him. We were relieved when another boat called asking if we were missing a dog. It turns out VC was catapulted from the deck of our boat and landed confused, but unhurt, on the deck of another boat in our patrol.

If the other boat was close enogh for the dog to land on it then it was close enough to be within shouting range at best. Yes. That other boat was right next to a boat that got mined ( Kerry's ). It wouldn't just keep moseying down the river when another boat was in distress. They were looking around frantically, that boat with the catapulted dog would be right there.

It's against the law to have an unsecured pet riding in the vehicle?

I thought it was a lie because there was no mention of Kerry performing a heroic resuscitation on the beloved pet

If he was allready in the water why would he need the oar? Well, he just had his hair coiffed and didn't want to moisten the 'doo, of course.

and the mine went off under the boat throwing the dog wayyyy over there but just knocked them down and didn't sink the boat.

I don't recall reading or hearing that Walter(JF'nK) Mitty's boat struck a mine. I thought another boat in the group struck a mine, and sometime during or following that action Mitty pulled a guy out of the river??????

Maybe the Other Boat was two miles away and the VC had gone suborbital onto it's deck!!!!! This is better than giving a pet hamster mouth to mouth resusitation.Buffoon material...
To: Jim_Curtis
If a mine had exploded under Kerry's boat he would not have been able to immediately spend several minutes searching for a dog because he would have been too busy filling out the request for a purple heart form.

In addition to reply #3, a mine exploding "hard under" a swiftboat in a shallow river would have turned said swiftboat into matchsticks and metal bits and pieces.

I don't know about your question but I found many of Kerry's responses to be interesting coming from a man who is campaigning on the federal government's further funding of embryonic stem cell research and supports partial birth abortion.
WILL YOU SUPPORT STIPULATING THAT NO TAXPAYER FUNDS BE USED TO KILL WILDLIFE, OFTEN ON PUBLIC LANDS, FOR THE BENEFIT OF PRIVATE RANCHERS? _X_ yes ___ no
WILL YOU SUPPORT EFFORTS TO PROHIBIT FEDERAL FUNDS FROM BEING USED IN THE NATIONAL SCHOOL BREAKFAST AND LUNCH PROGRAMS FOR THE PURCHASE OF EGGS PRODUCED AT FACILITIES THAT FORCE MOLT? _X_ yes ___ no

a mine exploded hard under our boat. Why didn't Kerry get another medal for this? Good point. There is no way that Kerry would allow such an incident to go by without jabbing a piece of metal into his ass for a Purple Heart.

I'm having trouble picturing our sailors calling "Here, VC! Come here, VC!" in the middle of a mined river in enemy territory...
To: Jim_Curtis
It is a story that should be verifiable by others on his boat and on the other boat.
The distance of the mine to the boat concerns me.

I think he meant to say "I have always had spet in my life." Spet means to spit.
