According to a Kerry campaign source, senior campaign advisers tasked two Washington-based campaign staffers to vet the recently published Unfit for Command.
"The purpose was to compare what that book had with what we had on file from Senator Kerry," says the campaign source, who said that the research project developed more than 75 instances where Kerry's recollections, previous remarks, or writings conflicted with the book's reporting.
"We took some of the most glaring examples, like the Christmas in Cambodia story, and presented them to senior staff, and we assume that those things were put in front of Senator Kerry," says the source. "We haven't heard a word about it. All we were told is that it was being taken care of."
The campaign source said that the book was not considered a "serious" problem for the campaign, because, "the media wouldn't have the nerve to come at us with this kind of stuff," says the source.
"The senior staff believes the media is committed to seeing us win this thing, and that the convention inoculated us from these kinds of stories. The senior guys really think we don't have a problem here."

The campaign source said that the book was not considered a "serious" problem for the campaign, because, "the media wouldn't have the nerve to come at us with this kind of stuff," says the source. The smug, self-satisfied arrogance of these people is flabberghasting.
The sheer rudeness, and contempt, they display towards common citizens ( i.e., people too small to do them any good, or harm... ) is revolting.
I truly hope they have impeached themselves with their own words.
My life, your life- the lives of those nearest to us- is not some sort of inconsequential game, but that is how we are treated by these self-appointed "betters" who think they know better than us how to conduct our affairs.
I think it's time to send them a wake-up call... by standing up and pushing back, and sounding off. The Soap box and ballot box and jury box are to be preferred, but there is always that box of last resort. I hope they have better sense than to force us there.

The titile of the book might have been more accepted if it was......."Is Kerry Fit for Commnad?"
That way the reader is more likely to read it and feel his mind should be made up!
Wording is so vital
Now one is spending more time defending the titile in a of questioning Kerry character?
I hope in the future one will ponder all how they phrase things.
It never works when one is direct.....people tend to recoild.
Somewhere in the book the swist boat folks could have said we feel Kerry is unfit to command.

On the bright side, it's always nice when this crowd is kept occupied.
It keeps them from working their obsession with driving God and religion out of schools and public squares.

This is exactly the kind of arrogant care-lessness that I expected of Kerry, based on what he was like when I first debated with him 41 years ago in college. His staff is reflecting what I know of him. See below.

I don't believe the quote. No Kerry worker would be so stupid as to say such a think to someone outside the campaign bus.

Well it is time that we fund these brave Navy warriors's effort to get the truth out to America, since the mediots will not do it!

That was very valuable work you just did to post the "struggles" of the Communist Party, USA. I know you had to take a long, hot shower afterward. And you're right, it DOES match the "policies" of the Democratic Party, USA.

You are absolutely right that this is "a battle that will be won at the water cooler and the backyard party." To couple that with the comments of several others on this thread, the most important place that this will percolate beneath the notice of the LSM (lamestream media) is in the VFW Halls across the nation. Those folks are serious, and won't let go.
And the net result is that the alternative media will FORCE the LSM to cover the story, eventually.

"the media wouldn't have the nerve to come at us with this kind of stuff," says the source. The source must be friends with Bill O'reilly. He dismissed the anti-Kerry stories so fast, without any investigation, that my head was spinning in the no spin zone.

I don't EVER want to hear any Lib try to tell me from this point forward that the media is biased toward the RIGHT. That the media is controlled by Conservatives. Oh, they dodn't mean it - it's just a way to whip their media whores into greater efforts. A classic abusive relationship.

Kerry does not have "arrogance beyond belief." He was that arrogant at the age of 19, and I believed his extraordinary level of arrogance because I saw it in action, repeatedly.
