The Democrat National Committee has prepared a full-scale assault against the Vietnam Veterans for Truth to draw their character and veracity into question, according to one anonymous source inside the DNC. The campaign of character assassination is scheduled to coincide with the release of the book Unfit for Command which reveals inconvenient facts for the Kerry campaign.
We have prepared what we call Brown Books that contain damaging military records, personal credit histories, medical histories, psychiatric histories, divorce records, you name it, our source told us. The Brown Books are so-called because of their distinctive plain brown covers, which contain no words. Some books have already been delivered to Kerry-friendly reporters. Others are on their way, our source told us. When asked if we could have a copy, our source declined, saying there is a limited number of Brown Books and they have been carefully inventoried to control in whose hands the books ended up.
Ultimately the Brown Books will end up in the hands of pro-Kerry news agencies and reporters. According to our source, who demanded to remain anonymous for fear of retribution, The New York Times is already on the hook to run a negative series on the Vets, as is the Boston Globe, which is owned by the Times. (Editors Note: The Globe has already been caught attempting to attack the veracity of George Elliott, Kerrys commanding officer in Vietnam.)
In addition, the DNC has deployed a six member team from their press shop whose sole responsibility will be to spin and counter-spin stories about the members of Vietnam Veterans for Truth with pro-Kerry media entities, like the Times.
When asked if this was just another example of John Kerry slandering Vietnam Vets like he did in 1971 as a member of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War our source snapped, No! This is warfare. The only way were going to get out of this is to force everyone to question their motives and credibility.
If they want to spread rumors and stories about John Kerry, well spread rumors and stories about them. And some of the things they did in Vietnam were a lot worse than what they say John Kerry did, our source concluded ominously.
Stay tuned. We will keep you posted as this nasty story develops. Posted on Sunday, August 08 @ 14:36:36 EDT by admin
The clinton's have trained these pr!cks well.
It's the old "Nuts and Sluts" Defence. It's worked very well in the past against individuals who have fallen afoul of the clintons agenda. We'll now see if it works against hundreds of honorable combat veterans who are decorated for their service to their country and are now private citizens trying to expose a monstrous fraud.
This is going to get very ugly.
That's what you say, but that's not what most voters say.
You watch. There'll be polling done on the Swiftvets, and voters will be overwhelmingly opposed to their ad.
You're nuts. I think Vietnam is a major loser for Kerry.
Especially what it means when you tie it to his betrayal of the soliders in Iraq. It is very relevant.
I think Kerry's lies about his service, his slander of the Vietnam Vets and his refusal to fund troops in combat in Afghanistan and Iraq are all of a piece.
Medical records? Credit reports? Tax returns?
Good. I'd like to see John Kerry's while we're waiting.
If they're gonna play dirty? When was the last itme you ever knew them to play any other way?
Why??
The book (i've read a chapter) is very persuasive.
A lot of average people have lots of questions about Kerry getting out only after 4 months-- it smells. A lot of people are put off by Kerry's complete exploitation of Nam.
Showing that Kerry's Nam service is a giant example of hype, betrayal and opportunism does nothing to help Kerry.
According to our source, who demanded to remain anonymous for fear of retribution
I'll just bet he/she did want to remain anonymous.
No it's not. Voters actually don't care about his protesting, and are aware of his medals. They figure a guy must have done something to deserve medals.
I think Vietnam is a loser for the GOP, and for us, since Bush didn't go. We should stay away from this.
The issue of the $87 billion is much more relevant, and important, than Vietnam.
If that's an accurate quote, it's pretty damning.
Hmmmm? The last few days I've seen dem after dem saying this new ad is "simply not important" and cannot hurt Kerry.
Seems to me they're going to a lot of trouble for something that's not important.
Some may, but I'd doubt the number is very large.
Look, people who go into combat get the benefit of the doubt, fic. Like it or not, they do.
Leni
Yeah; have you ever noticed how brave they are behind the protective cover of "journalistic privilege?" And they're real bold when they are one of a thousand shrieking voices in a crowd. When it comes to sticking their necks out, though, they are a bunch of simpering cowards who cringe and scurry when the light hits them.
You actually think the Kerry campaign is frightened by the Swiftvets?
I think they're sowing this false fear with GOP sources so they can keep this thing alive.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Thanks Leni! It's good to see old friends this afternoon. :)
And we all have to remember that's how they fight. They fight to win, and we have to fight to make sure those traitors lose. ANY LEGAL MEANS NECESSARY.
I think I'm going to swipe one of your phrases from a post on this thread and make it my tagline.
Here's one you can use, if you want. I'm thinking of putting a sign that says "Works well when angry" up behind my desk at work. Well, it's true...!
A historical note: The infamous Brown Book (or The Brown Book of Hitler Terror) was anonymously prepared by some high-level communists influence agents in response to the Reichtag fire in 1933. The Brown Book (or books since there were actually two volumes) were a collection of inspired guesses, lies, disinformation, and occasionally rock solid evidence about the emerging Nazi terror. However, though the books were overtly an attack on the Nazis they played a part in a much deeper game between the Nazis and the Soviets, which ended up in the German/Soviet pact of 1939 and the start of WWII.
Ever since Arthur Koestler who took part in the writing of the Brown Book described it in his autobiography, the term Brown Book has been a synonym for disinformation, half-truths and half-lies.
How appropriate!!!
A question: Is it possible for a foreigner to donate to the Swifties or could that be used against them?
