No it's not. Voters actually don't care about his protesting, and are aware of his medals. They figure a guy must have done something to deserve medals.
I think Vietnam is a loser for the GOP, and for us, since Bush didn't go. We should stay away from this.
The issue of the $87 billion is much more relevant, and important, than Vietnam.
If that's an accurate quote, it's pretty damning.
You are totally wrong. I think Kerry's lies, treason and flip -flop (it's a terrible, criminal war to it was the setting of his heroism-- can you be a hero in an illegal, immoral war?)on Nam kills him in places like PA, OH, MO, and a dozen other critical places.
Kerry's antiwar activism is fine if he doesn't waver from it. He did. In addition, we have active wars going on right now. His decision to refight the Vietnam war is seen by many as a dangerous diversion.
Who is the "we" you speak of that should "stay away from this," and what is "this"? A bunch of guys went out and raised some money, made an ad, and ran it. They didn't ask the GOP, they didn't ask "us," and they apparently did not seek your approval either. So now what?
It's too late to unring this bell. Either the Swift Vets bring down Kerry, or the media succeeds in painting Kerry as the victim of a "Republican dirty trick." Do you want what's behind Door #1, or Door #2? Do you see a way to get to Door #3?
