The book (i've read a chapter) is very persuasive.
A lot of average people have lots of questions about Kerry getting out only after 4 months-- it smells. A lot of people are put off by Kerry's complete exploitation of Nam.
Showing that Kerry's Nam service is a giant example of hype, betrayal and opportunism does nothing to help Kerry.
Some may, but I'd doubt the number is very large.
Look, people who go into combat get the benefit of the doubt, fic. Like it or not, they do.
