This is the type of commercial the pubs should be running, but won't.
It's devastating for Kerry and shows him to be the lying, cowardly traitor that he is.
WE FREEPERS NEED TO DO OUR PART TO MAKE SURE IT STAYS ON THE AIR UNTIL THE ELECTION!

It might not get a lot of airtime - even with the money - but it will be spread.

no. what I am saying is that the 30 sec ad contains only 8 or 9 guys calling kerry a liar.
one thing they could have done (and they can still do with little trouble) is the following: Include a text overlay containing some explanation of each charge made by the swiftees featured. That would have required no additional play time.
Look. We all want this ad campaign to be as effective as possible... which means converting the undecideds AND some Kerry voters. The ad has to go beyond mere name-calling to accomplish that.

At the very least, the ad could include one sentence directing the viewer to their web site for the details.
Question: Is the swift boat vets' web site still active? How do you get from the ad to the home page?
There should be a link to the swiftee home page at the ad site!

I think this issue goes to the heart of the campaign.
If we can demonstrate that kerry is DANGEROUSLY unfit to be commander in chief, that his "leadership" would put the country's very existence at great peril, I do believe you will get some conversions.
And I agree with you, we would definitely get some anti-Bush voters to stay home or vote for nader.

good points.
see my answers 365 and 366.
I suppose my main point is that it could have been even more powerful... and it could have minimized the risk of being dismissed out of hand by the lefties if it contained specifics.
Text overlay or directions to a web site with details would have been a time- and cost-effective way of accomplishing this.

The ad is a good start, but it needs honing and refinement. Last I saw of it ( last night ) it had several spots of "black screen time" that needs to be eliminated- and reinforcement of the message via text would be a welcome addition.

Thanks Tonk for the ping.
I intend to support and having seen the ad, now I wonder what the Kerry campaign will do to counteract it.
Maybe something like this.
I think it represents just how far they will lie achieve their goals.
And don't think it hasn't already crossed their minds.

Can this ad run after the CFR deadline?

I heard this reported on ABC radio at the top of the hour news. Kerry's side also claimed it is big lies.

I just had to go watch it two more times. I LOVE this ad.

Is this interview with Thorne by Stien available? Mute for a long period of time!!! That's scary. Scary Kerry! Really!

Tonight on MSNBC:
"After Hours' goes primetime tonight Joe Scarborough and Ron Reagan take your phone calls and e-mails about the latest assault on John Kerry's war record. Make your voice heard on this special live primetime edition of "After Hours," Thursday at 9 p.m. ET. (Also this Friday!)"
Just read that over again and grasp the accusatory tone. MSNBC is going after UNFIT FOR COMMAND...big time! I hope our guys will flood MSNBC with phone calls and emails.

Whew, strong stuff, that. My neighbor who served two tours in the PBRs (same command as Swift Boats) tells me that he would not even have applied for Purple Hearts based on his understanding of Kerry's war wounds. That's something I can't understand. Did Kerry put himself in for his Purple Hearts? I was wounded in RVN and my CO put me in for the Purple Heart. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone putting themselves in for one.
