Stephen Hawking's chilling warning to humanity may be coming true after a renowned scientist claimed a 'hostile' encounter with alien life could be months away.
Hawking, the famous theoretical physicist who died in 2018, warned the world that making contact with alien life could end in disaster for the human race.
The late professor believed that actively seeking out extraterrestrials would bring on a deadly invasion, similar to how cultures on Earth have wiped out less advanced civilizations in the past.
'The extraterrestrials would probably be far in advance of us, 'Professor Hawking said in 2004. 'The history of advanced races meeting more primitive people on this planet is not very happy, and they were the same species. I think we should keep our heads low.'
He advocated for more passive searches for intelligent life, such as listening for alien radio signals, rather than actively broadcasting our presence to the universe.
Hawking's grim message was recently revisited by an international team of researchers studying the so-called 'intelligence trap.'

Anyway, methinks this is a big nothing burger.
Spoiler Alert: There is probably no one else in the universe but us (In this time period at least).
Just another “scientist” who apparently believes he and/or Mr. Hawking are God. What a pitiful existence. And when a few months pass by and nothing happens, will there be an acknowledgement or apology? (Crickets heard here...)
When I was a kid, I spent many an hour preparing for this. So I am ready.

L. Ron Hubbard’s “Battlefield Earth” is a good read about the dangers of broadcasting our existence to the universe. (Great book. Lousy movie.)
Especially if we have appropriated thier technology.
The Inca Empire stood no chance against the Spanish conquistadors, being about a thousand years behind them in technology. Space aliens could be millions of years ahead of us, or more.
Somebody on FR once said the space aliens
might just think we’re really tasty 😋
It’s a cookbook!!
Will I have time to settle a few scores before we get zapped?
A decade ago, the New Horizons probe flew past Pluto. I was all-in on this saga for years, so I read anything on the topic. One thing that caught my attention was the engineers’ concern for the probe hitting a random piece of space rock, especially as it approached the Pluto system. They said at 40,000 mph (the probe’s cruising speed), all it would take to destroy New Horizons was impact with a rock the size of rice. That didn’t happen thankfully, and we got stunning photos and another demonstration of American exceptionalism.
A few years thereafter, on FR there was a great thread on the physics of space and light-speed travel…not a Star Trek or sci-fi talk, but people who actually know physics (well…it’s the internet…they sounded smart…) and math really well.
This same physics/math problem arose….the faster you go, the less it takes terms of size of what you hit, to wipe you out. Someone posted a formula and there was agreement on this problem. The problem isn’t just that collision damage issue, but even IF you could achieve light speed, you’d be exposed to this risk for years if not centuries.
The posters in this thread then posited that this damage issue COULD be overcome if mankind could, say, develop a guidance system that identifies rock etc. and steers around it. The counter to that was at light speed the size of the rock that’d kill you would be so small that 1) no sensor could detect it in time and 2) even if detected, you’d have to slow down the spacecraft, swerve, etc. The end of that discussion was that of a “never say never” attitude.
Fair enough. I’m not a physicist nor do I play one on TV.
But physics applies to all physical beings. It seems impossible, physically, for ET (or us) to travel at light speed for years to visit wherever, and then go home etc. It’s just not going to happen.
And yet, UFO sightings and aliens and close encounters happen with enough frequency where it’s hard to just blame it on drugs.
For me, the answer, not just religiously, but empirically, points to ET being demons. Fallen angels. And Demons really do hate us and want to serve us for dinner.

Yes you will.. let me join you.
I never knew Dr. Kildare smoked a pipe!
Aww what the heck, bring ‘em on...
You seem pretty sure that we know everything there is to know about physics. Here we are, just 200 years or so into that study.
