New research from the Imperial College’s School of Public Health shows that “ultra-processed foods” are linked to an increased risk of developing cancer.
The London researchers classified ultra-processed foods as products like carbonated drinks, cereals, mass-produced and packaged bread and pre-packaged meals. The study authors noted that such foods are typically not ingredients used in household cooking but instead are made up of “derived ingredients,” such as high fructose corn syrup or modified starch.
They discovered that those who consumed convenience food items were potentially at a higher risk of developing life-threatening cancers after studying 200,000 middle-aged participants over the course of a decade.
The UK study, which was published in eClinicalMedicine, concluded that ovarian and brain cancers were more likely to develop in people who ate the food, while ovarian and breast cancers were more likely to kill them.

OMG!
Who knew?
Answer: Everyone.
I shouldn’t eat and drink that stuff (have been since the ‘60’s) but I’d rather take my chances with it than get a COVID shot.
What to eat ? What to buy ?
75% of stuff in grocery stores is it’s now labeled ‘BioEngineered Ingredients”
Yogurt, Bakery Bread, Deli Salads
Who cares. If you make it to 75 years, you did as much as you need to.
Eggs, flour, good tomatoes, the best beef and ground italian sausages, the best cheeses
You can make fresh pasta and sauces, no preservatives, and get your veggies and protein
Might be better to show the short list of things they say won’t cause cancer.
If you live long enough, you’re bound to die of something.

Well, not quite everyone, but many of us. I buy my meat from a local country meat counter in a small Mom & Pop type store and cook my meals at home. Meat and two veggie dishes for dinner each evening. If you read the ingredients on some of the items in processed foods, you find that there is very little “food” involved.
I’ll review it.

In cleaning out the pantry of old expired food, I dumped some into the edge of the woods. No animals would eat it, not even the bugs, and it just stayed there in a pile until repeated rains just caused it to wash away. It took a while though. The animals even knew it had no nutritional value.
And just why do Americans care what comes out of the uk health colleges.
If I had known that I would live this long I wudda taken better care of myself.
“Although our study cannot prove causation...”
Why bother writing the article?
Eat bugs, or you’ll get cancer.

Amen! I'm the only family member who lived to be 75. I outlived them all. They all smoked. I never did. Three died of lung cancer, two at 69. One at 73. Only brother dropped dead of a heart attack at 51. Oldest sister was an alcoholic, spent most of her adult life in a psychiatric center, then shifted to adult-assisted living homes. She lived to be 74...died of a stroke. I'm not a drinker, but I do have my own health issues which have been kept stable for years. No jabs. Tested positive for Covid twice, but had no symptoms whatsoever. I'll just keep kicking for as long as the Good Lord lets me. I just don't want to outlive my two sons who are in their 50's.
