I think this is actually a good thing...it's a win win situation.

Correct! Refuse to give them back any equipment- like the Taliban did. What’s Brandon going to do about it? Nothing

A Militia is not bound by UCMJ or other legalese. The Militia is free men coming together in order to physically support a cause.

Becoming a state militia means a huge loss of federal money, no longer getting DoD equipment, etc.. so it's not just no longer being under federal control - it also means no more federal support.
That's why you're not seeing a rush by other states to do the same thing. Not opining one way or the other as to whether it is a good idea - just saying there are very real costs.
To: Beave Meister
Why not just continue on to the Brandon-Free State of OK?

In the movie “Gods and Generals” there is a scene from early in 1861 in which Gen Stonewall Jackson addresses his new troops and lets them know that President Lincoln called upon the state of Virginia to call up two regiments of militia, in case the South were to secede. As Jackson looks out at the two regiments, he says “Tell Mr. Lincoln we have done so.”

Then they can become a well-regulated militia.

I wonder if other states do this, like Texas, and AZ. What will the Pentagon do if more state go rouge? Some of these Southern boarder states can protect their boarders how they see fit.

Agreed — this is a good thing. Each state should have its own state guard or militia NOT answerable to the federal government.

I put this in the same category as Texas secession.

The equipment is already on a federal/DOD property book. The rub is how do they recover the equipment which is held in multiple locations.
