WASHINGTON, D.C.—By all accounts, President Donald Trump has now gone completely mad with power. In a press briefing, he laid out his insidious plan.
“When I’m done with this country, everyone will be able to leave their houses whenever they want and do whatever they want,” Trump told the press with an evil grin. “They’ll be able to peaceably assemble in whatever size groups they desire! Muhahaha!”
“You’re a mad man!” a CNN reporter cried. “You don’t have the power to let people have freedom! You’re a tyrant!”
“My power is absolute!” Trump screamed. “No one can stop me! Soon everyone will be able to go back to work and buy whatever they feel like from the store even if bureaucrats don’t like it!”
“Noooo!” cried an MSNBC reporter. “You have to arrest people who don’t do what the government tells them! Who do you think you are? Someone stop him!”
But no one came to stop him, and Trump just laughed an evil laugh.
It is unknown if anything can be done about Trump, but many hope that the Constitution has enough checks and balances to keep one man from giving out freedom by fiat.
This is exactly why Founding Fathers like Mao Zedong didn’t want the public to own guns.
You know? This one’s resoundingly close to not untrue.

Unfortunately there are people that believe keeping this lockdown in effect is needed to protect us all. I know one that believes this lockdown is for the greater good and it we need to give up our rights for our own protection. And I am a bad person for wanting freedom.

There was a time when The Onion started to veer over into reality land (or reality veered into Onionland), I fear the same is happening to the Babylon Bee.
Everyone break the quarantine, go back to work, to malls, cinemas, restaurants, sporting events.

Notice I used the word “lessened”.
We have ZERO prob with folks who feel more comfortable going out and about.
We just take precautions when we do.
Jeez louise, my ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War. My bet is they’d be mad as heck at folks who want to croak the republic for the sake of their own personal safety.

That interchange with CNN, telling President Trump that he didn’t have the power to free Americans, really did have a farcical feel about it. I’m glad the Bee did this one. Thanks for posting it.

An Arizona TV anchor interviewing Doug Ducey yesterday seemed only marginally less crazed. He apparently could not comprehend any potential end being established for the Governor's stay-at-home order while there was the slightest chance remaining that even one person could still contract the virus.
