I received word from 2ndDivisionVet wife that he passed away.
I am not using his real name here out of respect but, will ping his handle and his wife can if she would like.
I didn't ask what he died from but, knowing him for better than 10 years, I knew of medical conditions and a few terrible Operations he had.
He was a wonderful human being who cared deeply for his fellow Americans and the ideals that make this country so great that people the world over want to come here and be free, live in liberty and be whoever they want
If you have ever spoke with 2ndDivisionVet, you know he was quick witted and wry.
What had always amazed me about him was not just his humor but, his ability to somehow take life in stride despite all he endured and be cheerfull.
He was amazingly resourceful in scouring the web for article we might find interesting.
Yes, 2ndDivisionVet really cared about all of us and our presence in his life gave him purpose
I really wish God had let him stay but, my thoughts are more selfish than the absolute knowledge that he is in a better place.
I hope to see him again one day.
Rest in peace and smile down on us 2ndDivisionVet
So sorry. Prayers for the loved ones.
An enormous loss to FR.
RIP, FRiend
To dear Mrs. 2ndDivisionVet, please accept my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family for your loss. May God grant you peace and the comfort of knowing that Vet’s absence will seem but a moment of time compared to when you will be rejoicing together in the presence of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords for all eternity.
I will ensure he is enshrined soon...
This is a significant loss for all of us at Free Republic. FR will not be the same without him.
Prayers for 2ndDivisionVet's family and close friends for peace and comfort. Rest in peace, FRiend.
Amen, and Amen. I will miss 2ndDivisionVet so much.
He would laugh at that, Laz. ;-)
Rest in peace and smile down on us 2ndDivisionVet.
Amen. Beautiful write up, by the way, Vendome. I will miss 2ndDivisionVet so much. :-(
Indeed a loss for Free Republic.
Prayers for Mrs.2ndDivision Vet.
He will be missed.
“Even during the lean years” Yup
He was a scrapper.
Damn!
RIP 2DV. May God hold you and comfort your family.
A Brother In Arms.
I feel like a relative has passed. RIP fellow Feeper!
RIP Vet, on Vet’s day no less!
Sad to hear this. RIP.
I know he had some health issues, but thought he had recovered.
*************
From what little I know they weren’t pleasant. I think he was
originally from MS and moved to Tx just a few years back.
He was one of the most prolific posters, and his posted articles were always very timely and revealing.
He will be sorely missed.
2ndDivisionVet, RIP and know that we will carry the torch, but perhaps not as well as you did.
All the best on your next adventure......
VERY sad news. I kept my posts to a few today.
Didn’t feel right chatting away with him just passing.
He was up overnight a lot like me and we shared thousands of posts over time.
Very sad news indeed.
Best wishes to his family, but it doesn’t end here, and he is doubtful quite ecstatic looking down on this place right now.
