How the Media Lied about Obama’s Birth Records

During the 2008 Presidential campaign, "mainstream" media confused the public over whether Obama ever released any real proof of his claim to being born in Hawaii. The confusion continues. Jonathan Alter, senior editor at Newsweek magazine, told MSNBC's Keith Olbermann on February 20, 2009 that "The Obama campaign actually posted his birth certificate from a Hawaii hospital online."

But Alter lied, since "the Obama campaign" never "actually posted his birth certificate from a Hawaii hospital online." Remarkably, no hospital in Hawaii yet lays definitive claim to be the birthplace of the sitting President.

.. On the FactCheck.org website, the claim is made that "FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate." They only saw and touched the COLB. So FactCheck.org lied about this as well.

Why would Factcheck.org tell so obvious a lie and endanger the site's reputation? In August 21, 2008, when questions about the COLB began to reach critical mass and threatened to enter the public discourse, the mostly pro-Obama TV and newspaper/magazine media needed cover for their collective decision to ignore questions about whether Obama met qualifications for the Presidency set forth in Article II Section I of the Constitution. .. FactCheck.org helped stifle the birth certificate debate.

Under Section 57 of the Territorial Public Health Statistics Act in the 1955 Revised Laws of Hawaii (in effect in 1961), a mailed-in form (without mention of a hospital, doctor, or midwife) signed by only one of Obama's parents (who could have been out of the country or whose signature could have been forged by a grandparent) or grandparents, would be enough to set up a birth record at the Department of Vital Statistics. This meager birth record would then automatically generate newspaper announcements, and also, a computer-generated COLB in 2008.

Question is, does such a "member" fit in with the spirit of FR?

Some people fight for a cause because it is the right thing to do morally. Out of genuine concern for the country.

Others (political prostitutes) get paid to do the devil's work. Rarely do they care or know the issues at hand.

I don’t know all it entails, but I’m sure the registration numbers were verified. I think the point is that it has to be a verified, official copy, of the information on file - and just like photocopies don’t suffice, neither would a scanned digital copy of one...

BTW: Did you know that in IL you can still get a long-form certificate. I don’t know if you can request it at the court-house VS office, but I do know you can request a long-form online. Got a copy of my (Amended due to adoption) long-form just a year ago. Granted, this was amended as I said to include my adoptive parents as my birth parents — it still had my height, weight, hospital, Doctor’s name (printed not signed on the amended form). I was adopted as an infant in 1972, and the adoption was finalized in April of 1973. BTW: There is no indication on my long form (that I’m aware of) that signify that my record was ever amended... I’ll have to pull it out again, but I don’t think there is ANYTHING on it that indicates an amended certificate.

Of course El Gato. That is why you and I and rsxid and Star___, and others need to keep reminding those who are not trolls of the fundamental facts. Some, perhaps most of the trolls are well equipped the legal talking points. There is no point in engaging them because their goal is to discourage doubters from questioning any eligibility issues.

They may not expect Obama to survive a term, but there are enough left wing democrats that it will be a long battle to undo what Obama has quite ably driven against the will of the the citizenry. Even if Obama is found ineligible, which he surely is, we may be embroiled in the international consequences of a middle east war incited by the usurper's war on Israel, doing much more than has been reported by major media. The Saudi’s may or may not be productive, and Russia and China may have gotten involved defending Iran by that point; we don't have to guess that we are no longer an ally of Israel.

Obama is unconstitutional because of his British birth, but he will have succeeded because of the success of naive partisans is this country. It could lead to civil war as well, but these were always the dreams of Ayers and Dohrn and their fellow travelers. There were millions of German and Austrian Jews who pooh poohed the suggestion that the literate gentiles would harm their college professors or accountants or chamber music partners or engineers.

Forget the National Enquirer pursuit of records. Frightened government workers have already covered and will continue to cover knowing that there are radicals sprinkled throughout who will make them pay. Be certain of the framers and the few cases which clarify the issues.

I’m looking through my copy of the Constitution and I’m missing where it says that a president can’t be hatched, as long as that egg was in the United States of America. ;-)

So I guess you don’t care much for the conservatives on the current US Supreme Court: Alito (Yale Law), Kennedy (Harvard Law), Roberts (Harvard Law), Scalia (Harvard Law) and Thomas (Yale Law) are all “Ivy League lawyers” who I guess according to you, also were “hatched.”

For the record, Obama’s dual British citizenship expired when he was 2 years old and Kenya became an independent nation and Obama’s Kenyan citizenship expired on his 21st birthday when he didn’t select Kenyan citizenship. Kenya does not permit dual citizenship.

Lot's of interesting info.

It's only a question of time before the “documentation universe” - including BC’s - moves completely online.

For instance, the Human Resources Department at my current employer no longer verifies income, etc.

Instead, my company subscribes to a web service that posts my employment dates, job title, all my check stubs, eligibility for re-hire, etc.

If I apply for a new job, I simply give the interviewer a one time pass code to my vital stats page.

Andrew Jackson was born in 1767. Before the revolution, and before the Constitution (1789) which specifically exempts those who were citizens at the time of its ratification from the Natural Born Citizen requirement. Included in that exemption was Thomas Jefferson, who you'll recall wrote the FReeping Declaration of Independence.

Buchanan's father immigrated in 1783, while James Jr was not born until 1791. His father had 8 years to become a citizen, while 2-5 years was the typical requirement. The 1790 Naturalization Act only required 2 years, but before then it varied between the states.

In the cases of Hoover and Wilson, women became citizens upon marrying a US citizen until the 1920s, well after either was born, so their foreign born mothers were citizens.

But you are right about Chester Arthur. His father was not a citizen of the US at the time of his birth, but that fact was not known until the last year or so. Arthur took great pains to hide that fact, lying about his own age, the age his father was when he immigrated, and so forth. Although in fact he still had enough time, barely, to have become a citizen, but he did not do so until 14 years after Chester's birth.
