Now, for some fun questions to kick off tonights thread!
1. Have you been on a date with someone you met on the Internet?
2. Did the date go well? Did a relationship result?
3. Did you meet them on a dating site or elsewhere? Was it totally by accident or chance?
4. Do you have a funny, gross, scary, or otherwise entertaining internet dating story to share? Either one that happened to you, or someone you know.
5. Any funny or interesting meeting the parents stories?
6. Has meeting the parents ever caused a breakup?
7. And, finally, have you ever set up a backup scenario to get out of a potentially bad date?
I was up in Canada for a couple of days during my trip to Minnesota last fall, and CBC Radio had a great series of radio shows on the Top Canadian Songs of All Time. An old folk song from Ian and Sylvia Tyson called "Four Strong Winds" was voted #1 of all time.
I think it may be the official song of the Province of Alberta.
Thank you again! I've been doing office work for about 15 years now, so I know exactly how to dress for a company. I was well within the boundries of the dress code, but one of the managers very wrongly and unfairly targeted my appearance and chastised me in front of everyone. When it happened a second time, that's when I quit.
Our topic is internet dating? Hmm, I think a few years ago it was ok, now one must weed thru the kooks. Does anyone have a good internet dating site? I suppose I should read the thread first?
Did rockn right meet his girl through the internet?
Believe me when I say that I've been in your shoes and I refuse to let that happen again.
To me, or anyone I know.
At least a distraction.
Sounds like this winner of a lady is taking her personal frustrations unfairly out on you.
You know, you speak so well of Alberta, and I know you like it very much that a lot of people think you are Canadian, lol.
Well, necessary is my word. Just doesn't seem like it's worth the trouble.
Helloooooo Dolly! I've always wanted to say that which speaks for my age. I imagine everyone else has done the same, haven't read anything yet. Guess I'd better catch up first....
You are so right, snugs.
SORRY YOU WERE MISSED W/PING
not sure what happened. Rockinright did have the correct list.. & your name is on it (check yourself)
but glad you made it!!!!
It's hard not to get attached to the place after you've lived there for a few years. I still do some business there, and I always love to travel up there -- at least in the summer.
Not bad, hope you get your $750.00, or at least close to it.
It sounds like you had jealousy at your place also.
A woman who follows this can pretty much write me off immediately, and I will write her off as well. I'm horrible in this kind of group dynamic. No matter what event is planned, I don't do well trying to get to know women in these situations. I need a time and place of quiet conversation without the distractions of her friends and my friends.
The compromise that I'd always offer is to meet her somewhere in public but where there are going to be few disturbances. For instance, the coffee shop at the Books-a-Million store nearest me just hasn't caught on. Every time I've been there, they have fewer than three of nine tables filled. There are too many people at the store for me to try anything, but they are all passing through or far enough away that they wouldn't be a distraction or interruption to conversation. She should feel completely secure, but I will be able to have the kind of conversation that allows me to be at my best.
Bill
FYI to All-- Mcintosh is to audio what Rolls Royce is to cars!!
Bill, glad it has worked for you.
I have regular e-mail conversations with several ex-girl friends. Didn't meet them on the internet, tho.
It's amazing how close we are now, as we only "see" each other on the WWW.
I had a few freeper friends telling me, well, what the heck does he know anyway, he's Canadian. LOL!!! I had to explain the whole story, man!
Hope the interview works out
