Guess who's hosting this edition of the singles thread!?! Scary, ain't it folks.
Anyhow, in the process of cleaning out boxes, it came to me....the questions that we all ask ourselves as we uncover chunks of our long lost past.....
What WAS I thinking!?!
So, my questions to all of you are:
What hobby or interest did you have when you were younger that you still have a passion for?
Ok, now....is there something you used to do that you now think "I can't believe I used to like that!"
Same with music---
What was your favorite band/song in highschool, then early adulthood compared to now? (Those still in early adulthood have only 2 questions to answer. Or maybe just one ;))
Is there anything in your interests, hobbies or life that would surprise people who know you? (Nothing weird, just.....) And if it invovles being on wanted posters, you can skip the question :)

I'm very glad you asked me about my tagline.
It is a lament to a dead soldier, a Scottish soldier who was killed in WW I. His name was Sgt. MacKenzie.
Here are the lyrics in Scottish and English, along with a link to the page where you can get the song, although the song is from the soundtrack of "We Were Soldiers Once" and the complete song is not on the soundtrack.
Sgt. MacKenzie in Scottish:
Lay me doon in the caul caul groon
Whaur afore monie mair huv gaun
Lay me doon in the caul caul groon
Whaur afore monie mair huv gaun
When they come a wull staun ma groon
Staun ma groon al nae be afraid
Thoughts awe hame tak awa ma fear
Sweat an bluid hide ma veil awe tears
Ains a year say a prayer faur me
Close yir een an remember me
Nair mair shall a see the sun
For a fell tae a Germans gun
Lay me doon in the caul caul groon
Whaur afore monie mair huv gaun
Lay me doon in the caul caul groon
Whaur afore monie mair huv gaun
Whaur afore monie mair huv gaun
Now in English:
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
When they come I will stand my ground
Stand my ground Ill not be afraid
Thoughts of home take away my fear
Sweat and blood hide my veil of tears
Once a year say a prayer for me
Close your eyes and remember me
Never more shall I see the sun
For I fell to a Germans gun
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
Where before many more have gone
From Moja Irlandia
A note on Sgt. MacKenzie by Willie Younie in the March 2002 issue of The Rothsian
The lament, "Sgt MacKenzie", is written and sung by Joe Kilna Mackenzie son of Maria McCabe and the late Alex McCabe of Provost Christie Drive, Rothes. Joe wrote the song in memory of his Grandfather a Moray man, from Bishopmill, who along with hundreds of other Seaforth Highlanders from the Elgin/Rothes area went to fight in the great war. Sgt Charles Stuart MacKenzie was bayoneted to death at, the age of 35, while defending one of his badly injured colleagues in the hand to hand fighting of the trenches.
Seaforth Highlanders
Here's the link:
http://compuball.com/av/sgtmackenzie.htm The song will load and start in a few seconds after you click on the link, so have your speakers on. Remember, only a few verses are here, then it goes into Hollywood music.
It is very sad.

At first, I thought it was some kind of graphic metaphor for the singles thread.Personally, this could be construed as much more graphic depending on your perspective:

House construction.
I moved in pre-running water, septic tank hook up, electricity etc.
I lived for the first month with a drop cord and garden hose.
THEN I got a flushing toilet.
Next month, hot water,
Next month, electricity,
Next week, AC,
THEN I got a working fridge!

I'm pre-corrupted, but I'm sure you could add some fuel to the fire!

What have you done this week? Did you cut wood? Mine was quite normal. Sorry to say, work and home.
How was your week, you have such a beautiful place with historical siginificance. No pictures this week??
To: Supernatural; All
I saw that movie. It was the third of the "shocker" movies in that period. I saw "Blackhawk Down" too. All of them(starting with "saving Private Ryan", were a massive change to the "old standard" war movie, where you might see someone get shot, but they would IMMEDIATELY go to the next shot, not showing any "blood and guts", of what really happens when a mortar exploded near you or machine guns tear you apart. "Private Ryan"(especially the beach sequence) changed all of that forever. It tried to make the audience "feel the pain, and smell the cordite", so to speak. I think it succeeded!!
One of my favorite bands when I was a teen was Journey. I still like Journey(but not the NEW journey as much).
I also liked Duran Duran. Still do "Her name is Rio, and she dances on the sand".....
I liked "teenage mutant ninja turtles", for a short time, back i about 1989-90. I can't believe I did, now!!
I liked easy listening music, as far back as a kid. I still do. But it can only be heard by streaming or on music choice nowdays.

I went camping once in my life at a campground for a week, and had to use those awful outdoor stalls. I don't think I could deal with that again/ Wuss!
To: Supernatural
