"Over the Rainbow," sung by Judy Garland (news) in the 1939 musical fantasy, was picked as the top song in U.S. cinema in voting by about 1,500 actors, filmmakers, writers, critics and others in Hollywood.
In 2001, Garland's "Over the Rainbow" (and Bing Crosby (news)'s "White Christmas") also topped the 365 "Songs of the Century" selected by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Recording Industry Association of America.
The rest of the AFI top 10: 4. "Moon River" from "Breakfast at Tiffany's"; 5. "White Christmas" from "Holiday Inn"; 6. "Mrs. Robinson" from "The Graduate"; 7. "When You Wish Upon a Star" from "Pinocchio"; 8. "The Way We Were" from "The Way We Weren't"; 9. "Stayin' Alive" from "Saturday Night Fever"; 10. "The Sound of Music" from "The Sound of Music."
Two other songs made the list from both "The Sound of Music" ("My Favorite Things" at No. 64 and "Do Re Mi" at No. 88) and "Singin' in the Rain" ("Make 'Em Laugh" at No. 49 and "Good Morning" at No. 72). "West Side Story" also landed three songs: "Somewhere" (No. 20), "America" (No. 35) and "Tonight" (No. 59).

Oh, those look scrumptious. I host a once a month crop in my home and I'm always looking for something special to serve my croppers. Thank you so much. I can't wait to try these.

My co-worker just announced that she will be seeing "Farenheit 9/11". She read a brief of what the movie is about. I told her not to believe everthing. That it will be slanted toward his opinion. Then I was told that it won several awards. I asked what that meant, where upon my other co-worker said it means it is a good movie and I should go see it!

Wasn't there a movie recently that critics gushed over, but it bombed bigtime in the theaters?

14. You discover, in July, it only takes two fingers to drive your car.

16. The pool can be warmer than you are.
17. You can make sun tea instantly.
18. You run your air conditioner in the middle of winter so you can use your fireplace.
19. People with black cars or upholstery are assumed to be from out-of-town.
20. Hot air balloons can't go up, because the air outside is hotter than the air inside.
21. You realize that Valley Fever isn't a disco dance.
22. The water from the cold water tap is the same temperature as the hot one.
23. It's noon in July, the kids are on summer vacation, and not one person is moving in the streets.
24. You actually burn your hand opening the car door.
25. You notice the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
