Obama amputates our nuclear arms

Under President Obama’s new policy, however, if the state that has just attacked us with biological or chemical weapons is “in compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty,” explained Gates, then “the U.S. pledges not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against it.”
Imagine the scenario: Hundreds of thousands are lying dead in the streets of Boston after a massive anthrax or nerve gas attack. The president immediately calls in the lawyers to determine whether the attacking state is in compliance with the NPT. If it turns out that the attacker is up-to-date with its latest IAEA inspections, well, it gets immunity from nuclear retaliation. (Our response is then restricted to bullets, bombs and other conventional munitions.)
However, if the lawyers tell the president that the attacking state is NPT noncompliant, we are free to blow the bastards to nuclear kingdom come.
This is quite insane. It’s like saying that if a terrorist deliberately uses his car to mow down a hundred people waiting at a bus stop, the decision as to whether he gets hanged or 100 hours of community service hinges entirely on whether his car had passed emissions inspections.
Apart from being morally bizarre, the Obama policy is strategically loopy. Does anyone believe that North Korea or Iran will be more persuaded to abjure nuclear weapons because they could then carry out a biological or chemical attack on the United States without fear of nuclear retaliation?
The naivete is stunning.

SNIPPET: “In the cat and mouse tactics between security experts and terrorists trying to bomb airliners, dogs and cats and other family pets are the latest to suffer more intrusive security checks before flying.
Israeli security services have reportedly ordered a retooling of screening at national airports which will require suspicious animals to go through x-ray machines to make sure bombs have not been hidden inside their bodies by terrorists.
Any pet owner who refuses will not be allowed to board their flight unless they leave their pet behind, according to the Israeli Internet news site NRG. It said security screeners at airports have received new instructions requiring them to pass dogs and cats and other pets of suspicious passengers through x-ray machines.
Security officials at Ben Gurion Airport refused to discuss the matter with The Media Line. A spokeswoman for the Airport Authority would not confirm or deny the report, but said their security procedures were dictated by national agencies.”

While the White House was engaged in hosting a Nuclear Security Summit in Washington D.C., a major nuclear incident occurred in India that escaped the attention of the international press.
Five people suffering from serious radiological burns were hospitalized in West New Delhi this week from contact with nuclear material in a Delhi scrap market.
The material has been identified as Cobalt-60 which may be used for making a dirty bomb.

An hour ago, the Vegas Police Dispatcher sent Officers to check a report of ‘juveniles’ who were turning off the power to the local residences.
Of all the calls that I have heard that was a first time for it, it makes me ask “where did the idea come from”, or should it have been on which site did you learn that trick.
Not something that I would have thought of, as a teen or even expected my kids to think of. Or know how to do.

James A. LARRY converted to Islam while serving time in prison. Having a
number of prior convictions, LARRY was most recently sentenced in 2002 to 5
½ years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing a firearm as a
felon. He was paroled in April of 2007, but spent three months in a halfway
house after he admitted smoking marijuana while on probation.
It was during his time in prison that he began receiving visits by prison
imams through the Islamic prison outreach program. “He became increasingly
radicalized with orthodox Islamic beliefs, ultimately demanding compliance
to fundamentalist Islam by his wife and family,” stated the detective. “He
[allegedly] killed his wife because she would not wear Muslim attire, and
would not follow his beliefs,” he stated. “It was an honor killing, pure
and simple, but don’t count on hearing that in the media.”

16 April 2010: It was a scene that left one of the most hardened Chicago
detectives I know shaken. He described the murder scene to me last night as
one of the worst he has seen in his career, and he has seen some of the
worst.
Responding early Wednesday morning to the scene of a multiple shooting
inside a bungalow located in the 7200 block of South Mozart Street, Chicago,
IL were the bloodied and lifeless bodies of Tawanda Thompson, 19, who was in
the late stages of pregnancy with a girl; Keyshai Fields, 16, also
four-months pregnant; 3 year-old Keleasha Larry, and 7 month-old Jihad
Larry. There were all methodically murdered in an early morning shooting
spree allegedly at the hand of 32 year-old James A. LARRY, Tawanda
Thompson’s husband. They were married less than a month. In addition to the
dead, 57 year-old Leona Larry, the suspect’s mother and his 13 year-old
nephew, Demond Larry were critically wounded.
Considering the unborn children, six lives were shortened by murder and two
more lie in the balance. The act was particularly brutal, according to the
homicide detective, who provided this author with the details of the murder
scene on the condition his name not be used.

SNIPPET: “As stands filled on Saturday for the Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers IPL match, two bombs went off at the Chinnaswamy Stadium wounding 12 people and triggering panic. Roughly 20,000 people had packed into the stadium and hundreds more were streaming in when a loud explosion at Gate 12 rocked the arena and rattled nearby buildings. Six policemen were injured when the grill near the wall collapsed on them.
The explosion occurred at 3.15pm. Another one about 20 minutes later compounded the cops’ worst fears because the second bomb went off closer to the stadium and near the state police wireless headquarters. The explosives were hidden in the bushes.
Preliminary forensic investigation revealed that the explosive was an ammonium nitro glycerine gelatin stick. It was detonated with a micro-chip fitted timer.”
