AMERICA- The Right Way!! (Day 739) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
All of Us | January 29, 2003A | Freepers and Various News Sources

Posted on 01/29/2003 2:30:52 AM PST by Molly Pitcher

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor our brave members of the Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Well, last night's speech was all we could have hoped for. And in a week, or two, the President will again address a joint session of Congress and the Nation.

This will be a one - two punch, and send the Dems and other critics reeling.

It's too bad it has to get so political on the eve of war, but the Corrupt Party started it with its overly aggressive attacks before the SOTU was even delivered!

So there it is: the Dems will be reeling. Excellent!

The word gets out who the best accountant is, the one who can hide more than others. No way do they pay taxes.

one question is what about the idiot reporters in BigDad? (not all idiots, but mostly, with their idiotic reports of how the man on the street feels...)

Were they interviewing Ba'ath party members again? That would be analogous to interviewing Brownshirts in 1939 Germany (literally).

Did you know that even the ability to purchase cars and trucks is government allocated in Iraq?

Hello, I am back. Thank you for the prayers for my sister.

She was in surgery for 6 hours. Her problem was a recurring hernia (3 operations) due to an earlier surgery.

She has been in almost constant pain and unable to lift things or do simple yard work. Because she is single, this has been a real misery for her in working around her house, and it has made her work as a surgery nurse very difficult.

She had a complicated surgery where two doctors both repaired the hernia with a piece of surgical Goretex, double reinforced it, removed scar tissue, and tightened and reinforced her abdominal muscles. She will be staying at my other sister's home for a few days, and I am going to be helping care for her.

As an aside, I do not like to see doubts and discussions about the justification for war on the day after that fine, historic speech by President Bush, whom I am SO GLAD WE SUPPORTED. I do not understand why the spirit of disruption has appeared here today, but I am not pleased.

I am going to check the news, and will return later.

"so what that oil is a major issue?"

Part of the problem with these phrases is that logically it is like dividing by zero. "Oil" and "for" are used in ways that deprives them of specific meaning - though a meaning can be derived from the phrase.

We are not going to war, nor did we in 1991, to acquire oil, which is what phrases like "No war for Oil" imply. We go to war for a variety of reasons, but as it regards oil, the reason is to maintain free trade - to deny a third party the ability to seize oil from an accepting seller. It's more like protecting your grocer than it is fighting "for oil".

If only some patriots in Iraq would give S and his sons and secret police some sudden cases of lead poisoning, this would save a lot of lives (mostly on their side)

Actually, there was such a thing in the works in the late 1990s. Clinton tried to have the CIA guy who was going to coordinate the followup to Iraqs Intelligence Minister whacking Hussein prosecuted, and tipped him off, leaving the resistance to fry, and pretty much all of our intelligence assets in Iraq to get slaughtered. If you recall, in 1996, leading up to the election, Clinton and Albright were putting pressure on the inspection team not to inspect, as it would upset Hussein, presumedly because this would draw attention to their being a problem which Clinton wasn't willing to address.

If anything is unfair, it's that Clinton let Hussein get away with stuff for so long, and now he expects it.

MP? This to all you other also. When was the last ime you went back home to your home town. Do You ever dream of walking up to your school again, not the same as it was I know, to the corner drug store or drive in to get a coke where you use to, to walk the route you took as a kid walking to school, to go to YOUR church, to look in the phone bood and see if your friends still lives there. For me, it has been way to long and I am making plans to go back to Greenville, Mississippi, and do all those things. They were good years which I will never see again so, let this old man just walk in his old dreams and think, think how wonderful it was.

If that's in your dreams, of course do it!

That's what my sister and I did last March when we returned to our childhood home of LaMarque Texas. It'd been too long....

The only thing is, and you probably know this already...things won't be the same. It can be a little hard to take in the changes......

But you mentioned so many of the stops we made: the school, the church, the drug store, our old houses...
