She was in surgery for 6 hours. Her problem was a recurring hernia (3 operations) due to an earlier surgery.
She has been in almost constant pain and unable to lift things or do simple yard work. Because she is single, this has been a real misery for her in working around her house, and it has made her work as a surgery nurse very difficult.
She had a complicated surgery where two doctors both repaired the hernia with a piece of surgical Goretex, double reinforced it, removed scar tissue, and tightened and reinforced her abdominal muscles. She will be staying at my other sister's home for a few days, and I am going to be helping care for her.
As an aside, I do not like to see doubts and discussions about the justification for war on the day after that fine, historic speech by President Bush, whom I am SO GLAD WE SUPPORTED. I do not understand why the spirit of disruption has appeared here today, but I am not pleased.
I am going to check the news, and will return later.
..so glad your sister is doing well...
..I talked to Dad this AM..(after I signed off FR)...and he was sputtering & fuming about his doctor messing up his medicines...
..so I made a running trip to the south part of my county to get this strainghtened out.
We visited the doctor (who was very patient and sweet)..and figured out what meds Dad was confused about, and we all got on the same page.
Then I took Dad & Mom to lunch, and followed Dad to his pharmacy to get his prescription filled.
When I returned home, I was exhausted, and just woke from my nap.
That was my day :^
