AMERICA- The Right Way!! (Day 739) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
All of Us | January 29, 2003A | Freepers and Various News Sources

Posted on 01/29/2003 2:30:52 AM PST by Molly Pitcher

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor our brave members of the Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Well, last night's speech was all we could have hoped for. And in a week, or two, the President will again address a joint session of Congress and the Nation.

This will be a one - two punch, and send the Dems and other critics reeling.

It's too bad it has to get so political on the eve of war, but the Corrupt Party started it with its overly aggressive attacks before the SOTU was even delivered!

So there it is: the Dems will be reeling. Excellent!

Did you enjoy that picture of the anti-French rally in Ivory Coast in post #21

Do you know what exactly the protest was about?

What you say is a good argument and mostly true.

If only some patriots in Iraq would give S and his sons and secret police some sudden cases of lead poisoning, this would save a lot of lives (mostly on their side).

I got that picture last night from a blog site, but today there's a thread about it here at FR.

Ivory Coast appeals to U.S. for help against French

Your valid point is about the bomb, but it raises a double standard most Conservatives ignore. What makes NKor, South Africa, Pakistan, or India for that matter, any better than SDH when it comes to having nukes?? Surely if we justify war vs. Saddam for this reason, then we most not obfuscate and pretend that we should not launch a campaign to destroy Paki and NK and SAFrica (now that the commies are partly in control there) nuclear capability. Why do they get free entry into the nuclear club???? w/o threat of war?

How about invading his neighbors, and trying to take over the resources of our suppliers? How about a history of actually USING the weapons, even for domestic control.

You're talking about a guy whose government tortures Olympica atheletes for not winning, and which sends videos to people that leave of the remaining members of their families being tortured and raped. Any other nations on this earth have "rapist" as an OFFICIAL position?

He lost a war. Why let him off the hook - especially since he exhibits continued misbehaviour?

...And a great deal of the problems in the Middle East grow stronger because others can see that one can successfully defy authority, even after conceding to it. Let him off the hook again, and you can expect a LOT of people to die. It is not just Iraq. Hussein merely makes Iraq a beacon for war throughout the region.

As for the number of dead, the only way that hundreds of thousands (of non-combatants) will die, is if he uses the weapons on his captive populace. Why are you arguing that we should let him retain the ability to do so at the time and place of his choosing? Submitting to blackmail does not gain one peace - not for long.

Oh, and South Africa underwent nuclear disarmament and was certified in short order, as they actually cooperated.

Whatever evidence President Bush has must be taken seriously, especially by the DNC. They've already tried the "what did you know and when did you know it?" routine. If we fail to stop an AQ attack that is aided in anyway by Iraq, what are they going to say?
Yes, but don't get caught in the lie. You might say, "Whatever additional evidence President Bush has..."

We've already got the evidence: Iraq has violated its agreements.

Greetings LibertyBelt, ATRW FReepers, et al:

Let me tell you, many of my brothers in arms are already deployed overseas. At this point, I'm in civilian status. In my home, on the look out for truth and knowledge. Like most citizen/soldiers we passionately defend the principals found in the Constitution of the United States, which I affirmed by oath to defend. Needless to say, we believe any use of force shall be measured, appropriate, and morally defendable. For we lead America's sons and daughters to battle.

If Saddam Hussein's Iraq enjoyed a free press, free speech, and freedom of association, and the USA threatened her; there could be a moral "unjust war" argument. But that is not the case with Saddam Hussein's Iraq. There is no frame of reference, by western standards of civilization, for comparing Saddam's Iraq. For the controlled Iraqi press, even a Holy Bible requires an image of Saddam Hussein. You did know that. Right?

France has no stomach for pre-emptive attack. Perhaps France remains guilt ridden over her cowardly attack upon an unarmed peace advocate’s ship in Auckland Harbor. But that is not why we have our sights set on Saddam Hussein's Iraq. An ostrich like stance on Iraq will not make Saddam go away, or behave. Sanctions were violated, weapons produced, inspections thwarted, meanwhile a new paradigm of warfare emerged: state sponsored terrorism.

Laurie Mylroie, President Clinton's advisor on Iraq, in her book Study of Revenge: The First World Trade Center Attack and Saddam Hussein’s War Against America, leaves little doubt the first WTC attack and US Embassy bombings were Iraqi state sponsored terrorist acts. Using an identical matrix, Mylroie also makes a good case the 9/11 attack was too. Iraq trains terrorist, harbors terrorists, and funds terrorist acts too. With that in mind, a war against state sponsored terrorism is an unjust war?

The horrific cruelty of Saddam is beyond belief. Former UNSCOM inspector, and now peace activist Scott Ritter, described an Iraqi children’s political prison. Ritter asserts in a Time Magazine story if we knew what went on in that children’s prison, even the peaceniks would demand war with Iraq. Freeing the Iraqi children from this brutal repression is somehow unjust?

This charade has gone on long enough. The Iraqi people have suffered long enough. Let the liberation of Iraq begin.

Today's Michigan speech... thanks for reporting in on it. Awesome!

The laws of physics apply equally in world affairs: politics hates a vacuum. Someone was going to fill it, and it wasn't going to be Kofi Annan. Two years ago, world politics were in disarray. Multilateralists wanted all divide and no conquer, or, they were incapable to conquer. They are all process, and they'd rather split differences in half continually until there's nothing left.

Guess who tried to step in? (And I loved the President's comment on him and his pals, "They’re no longer a problem to the United States and our friends and our allies...")

As per your report of what the President said today, the United States will not allow empty UN multilateralism to define American interests.

It seems to be a bit hypocritical for them to argue the tax cuts would only help the "rich". Aren't they part of the rich?

Mostly they already have the money, so tax rates don't affect them much. It's those BECOMING rich that are affected.

AND please tell me where KING Koffi Annan is? People starving in his homeland, people dying with aids in his homeland, pleople killing each other in his homeland, pray tell, where is KING Koffi and the UN? Nothing, not a word from the mighty UN or him. Come out KING Koffie, come out where ever you are, get some backbone and do something and oh yeah, while you are at it, call the members of the black cacus in congress, they are as silent as you are.
