Jack the Ripper's murder spree claimed the lives of countless women A researcher has claimed to have definitively identified Jack the Ripper through DNA evidence, sparking calls for an official inquest into the infamous murders.
Russell Edwards says he has obtained a "100 per cent DNA match" linking the killer to Aaron Kosminski, a Polish barber who emigrated to London.
"It's very difficult to put into words the elation I felt when I saw the 100 per cent DNA match," Edwards said.
"This brings closure and it's a form of justice for the descendants," he added.

Edwards purchased the historic shawl at auction in 2007.
Working with genealogists, Edwards tracked down a living relative of Kosminski who agreed to provide DNA for comparison testing.
The analysis revealed DNA matches for both the victim and Kosminski on the shawl.
"He can't be prosecuted because he's dead but this is the closest thing they can do," Edwards said.
Karen Miller, whose ancestor Catherine Eddowes was one of the Ripper's victims, is leading calls for an official inquest to legally name the killer.
"We have got the proof, now we need this inquest to legally name the killer," Miller said.
The 53-year-old descendant added: "It would mean a lot to me, to my family, to a lot of people to finally have this crime solved."

Weak. Finding someone’s DNA on a murdered prostitute’s clothing does not prove that he killed her.
You sure he wasn’t being sarcastic?
And no, the last thing any country in W Europe needs now is ANOTHER reason to blame Jews for EVERYTHING?

Those blaming Jews or immigrants are morons...plenty of native folks commit plenty of horrific crimes.
I’m also not so sure most people know what Native means.
In this day and age it should mean the country you were born in.

I’m also wondering how this guy could get a “100% DNA match” with a descendant of the original DNA source. So far, I tend to place this story into the category of tabloid nonsense.

That was graffiti found not too far from the last murder. Some people thought it was written by the murderer. FWIW

If the community bordering White Chapel were German immigrants, Russian immigrants, or whatever, they would be described as such. In this case the immigrants were Jewish. Insanity knows no ethic or religious boundaries.
Lots of speculation by others. Wonder if they’ll recant or return with more evidence to support their claims?

Jean Overton Fuller, in her 1990 book Sickert and the Ripper Crimes, had maintained that Sickert was Jack the Ripper.

Patricia Cornwell presented some strong evidence that Sickert penned at least one of the Ripper letters. I think she may be right. As for him being the Ripper himself, I’m not sure.
I could swear that Jack the Ripper was David Warner. I saw it in a documentary where H.G. Wells had to pursue him to the year 1979 in his time machine.

Have read that at least one of the murders might’ve been by a copycat.
