Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Happy Friday!
Pulling for the Princess to defeat the trend.
Took me five on this one. I’ve got to stop doing these B.C. (Before Coffee.)

Good job on the three! 👍
One shouldn’t do anything before coffee except brush teeth.
Good Friday Morning!
Yes, Go Princess!
Lucky three spot for me today... (I had some ☕️)...

All good so far. Her pattern has been to have the seizures in the morning. So we’re hoping we just went an extra day.
I hope it’s more than a day!
Brushing one’s teeth is always a good use of time.
Rabbit skins are (almost) worthless, keep reading for the exception.
But there are several people around here that sell meat rabbits.
Caveat is that you must sell them live.
If you sell them butchered you have to deal with the USDA.
Don't nobody want to do that.
She is going back and forth between the Flemish Giants which are really big and the Satin, which are about half the size but do give you a nice pelt. One that you can actually sell and they do much better in our harsh winters.
Yep, meat would have been my first choice, rather than pelts.
There are some humongous-sized rabbits in/from the British Isles that are about 35# but I have no idea how good their meat is. I’ve never been one to eat bunnies, but if they taste like chicken....
And yes, you do have harsh winters!
Riding the three train!
And I have slightly over three bushels to cauliflower to process. Most will be riced and some pickled. I think I will do it on Monday.
I have been on the go outside from seven this morning until about three when it got too blamed hot and I am exhausted. Came in, took a shower, checked the crockpot and got on the computer.
Looking forward to winter today.
With the price of meat it would be a nice addition.
I am starting to regret only having gotten one feeder pig this year but it was such a pain to process three.
Might not be so bad then, if they taste like chicken. I’ve had enough wild meat that I really don’t want anything I have to use curry on just for it to taste somewhat “normal.”
My dad used to buy the whole animal and a friend of his who was a butcher would process them (cattle, pigs, chickens) and all my dad had to pay was the cold storage fee. I don’t think that would fly these days, but they tell me times were simpler back when my dad was a “young” man.
Of course, now I’m wanting some pork...
OK. More tricky than usual today.

If it was up to me to turn animals into meat, we’d just eat beans.
Rabbits and chickens are fairly easy.
The pigs are a pain.
The cows and deer I leave to the professionals if possible. I normally sent the pig as well but at the end of 2020 we had three and he had no room on his calendar to do them so we did them.
He has us down for four slots. Last year we only had the one pig. But we had three deer.
It is going to depend on how many deer we manage to harvest this year if we do the pig or have it done. I plan on only taking two but last year I only took one personally and the other two came from the deer farm. He had two customer who only wanted the head. For us... free meat is free meat.
People are weird. If I am playing $6000 to shoot a deer I am taking every scrap.
Yes, I wouldn’t let meat go to waste, either!
Way to go on the 3! 👍
Happy Saturday! Tiny carnivorous predator kill yu!
Happy Caturday tiny Carnivorous Predator, what big teeth you have!! LOL!
Good morning.
Nothing like a good scare to get your heart pumping.
I hope you had a good night. Are you feeling better this morning?
Insomnia struck again last night. Maybe tonight I’ll sleep half-way decently.
