Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

What would be the purpose of the rabbits? Food, skins, droppings for fertilizer?
Good morning. Happy Friday!
Two-fer-Friday?
We had temps below 60 this morning. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. It’s still August.
If the Princess stays on her current schedule today is a seizure day. We’ll see how things go.

Good morning. It’s raining here, so I’ll be cleaning the kitchen instead of doing yardwork.
Good luck to the Princess!
Meat?
Sweet little floofs!
Good morning. Did you have a good night?
FD sent me a pic of the new fur babies on the bed that the late Binxx refused to sleep on. So I guess the old lady who kissed the cow was right.
People do raise rabbits for food.
I’m glad things are going well with the new kitties. I expect the hoomins will have a mix of happy and sad for quite a while.
Not bad. I was having weird dreams about Envirothon.
And goats.
We had a Muslim neighbor next door when we first moved here. He bought hallal goat meat from a supplier in South Carolina.
Rob’t says he’s not ready to love the kittens, but the fact that he even brought them home says a lot. It took eight years for him to create the bond with Binxx, so it’s not going to happen overnight with these two.
FD says their birthday is the same day as mine, poor things. That makes them VERY old. Oh. Maybe she meant this year. *snort*
She is experiencing the alternating waves of grief at the loss and sweet, tender, funny memories, but the shock seems to have faded a little. The peeps in her office bought her flowers yesterday, so that made her feel better for a while.
I’m sure Rob’t is going through pretty much the same thing she is but on a different level. He bonded with Binxx during the first six months and it did a lot to help with some of the more overt symptoms of his high-functioning autism. So yeah, I can’t even imagine his pain.
You can say you’re not ready to love kittens ... but kittens! They’ll work their magic.
Goat is the Muslim beef, since the latter is so expensive. Chicken is the only other alternative unless one is by a body of water large enough to produce a healthy population of fish.
I’ve eaten it, but I’m not fond of it.
Yes. I just smiled a knowing smile and winked a knowing wink because I know about kittens! Especially littermates!
A person who thinks he can resist two kittens is fooling himself.
Exactly! Absolute joy is wrapped up in those critters! He’ll cave! SOON!
Don’t tell him. Let him think he’s immune to kitten perfection. Guys like to think of themselves as all big-man, not a slave to kittens.
Not as good as yesterday, but at least it wasn’t the dreaded X/6!

He became a slave to Binxx, but the latter was already full-grown. These are joyful, playful, exuberant kittens, and no man can resist that kind of cuteness for long. I’d start a countdown, but it might be a week or more before he succumbs to the kitteh wiles, so I’ll just wait and see.
Good job!
I hope your predictions about Princess Dog are wrong, and that the new food is helping, so I’ll be waiting to hear. But then, no news is good news, eh?
