I know, I've been pretty much everywhere.
Not truly busy, just wandering as per my usual.
Been trying to make a map for Doom3 as the threadbare scattered parts of a mod for Doom3 I have stuck in my head.
Well... the map is hard to make.

Doom3 has a built in game editor, and once you learn teh basics of its operation, it become easier to use.
However, there are funmctions within the editor that are downright mystifying until you find someone who knows what it does and says, "It does this."

Book?
I'll never really write one, but it will be interesting to see what such a tome would look like with the doings of the resident humor crew as the subject.

I think DD would be in a category on its own.

The mapping is slow due to having to learn most of the editor proggy's functions and commands on the fly.
The next portion in the map calls for twin elevators.
The way to create functioning elevators in the game is somewhat beyond me at the moment.

I was using the sites of Quake3 bits, Id Dev Net, and the Doom3 Wiki for the info.
Info, but the video of how to make an elevator doesn't state what I need to know as they use func_plat to make a lift, not an elevator.
