Sometimes the reaction I get blows me away.

If I try to get emotional or sentimental it usually falls a little flat. I was just making note of what seemed like obvious parallels -- strings, ties -- learning, binding -- Maybe because it is so obvious to me, I fail to find it remarkable.

I remember reading about a boy who was mocked by his brothers because he claimed to see things that they couldn't see, identify relationships they didn't understand.

He was nearly grown before he came to understand that he had normal vision, and his brothers all had color-blindness.

Then again, maybe I'm just old enough to remember these things, and you kids have to look stuff up...
