Here's what I told Conspiracy Guy...
"People don't become happy because they have great lives --
they have great lives because they're happy."
He agreed.
I would further say ... you don't find happiness, you will it into existence -- just as you will an open hand, instead of a clenched fist.
Mornin', everybody ! Happy Wednesday !![]()
Have a cup while you Freep !
Read: John 15:13-15
I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. John 15:15
Bible In One Year: 2 Chronicles 32-33; John 18:19-40
Yes, it's a blessing to have human friends who enrich our lives. A devoted friend, as Proverbs 17:17 tells us, "loves at all times," standing with us steadfastly through life's sunshine and storm.
Indeed, some of us know gratefully by our own experience that "there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother" (Proverbs 18:24). We identify with David and Jonathan when we read about the bond between them (1 Samuel 18:1).
Friendship on a human level is wonderful, but what about friendship with God? It's an incredible blessing to have the Creator and Sustainer of our universe as a friend. Although worshiped by countless heavenly hosts, He takes great joy in His relationship with us.
Are we neglecting the privilege of walking with God, the greatest of all friends? Today, with gratitude and awe, let's spend time with Him in prayer and in reading His Word.
Remember that Jesus called His followers friends (John 15:15). What an honor that we can enjoy friendship with God! Vernon Grounds
Great.
Hmm, that seems to contrast with, "Life is a journey, not a destination."
Some of the most exciting journeys are to unknown destinations. It has also been commented that nothing sharpens the senses quite so much as the "journey" to one's execution.
That's a bit extreme, though. I guess my feeling is, if your eyes are only focussed on the horizon, you're going to miss a lot along the way. My philosophy is that joy can be found in everything that presents itself to our gaze, and every indrawn breath is an inspiration.
I am speaking of the ultimate destination. Not the way spots.
Someone once said, "If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there." That has to do with setting goals rather than wandering aimlessly.
Every journey should have a destination in mind. If you are paying attention during the journey the way points may change but the destination remains constant.
As for, "Life's a Journey, Not a Destination" that means that LIFE is a Journey, Afterlife is the Destination.
"The journeys end has great appeal,
After our prayers are said."
I think we just invented a new way of arguing in a circle.
Good morning!
That is a lovely poem and graphic!
YEP. You and I usually agreed at the end.
Thanks, PAL.
From the graphic, I couldn't tell if the boat was going out or going in, so I compromised by covering it either way. It kinda looked like a workboat to me.
I think I'd enjoy working on Greg Norman's boat, "Aussie Rules." That is one awesome bit of over-the-top conspicuous consumption.
Hi FRiends. Happy Wednesday. I don't know what 'special' day it is, and I really don't care to memorialize anything or anyone right now except President Reagan, who I had the privilege of serving under while I was in the Air Force.
Blessings to you all!
I'm with you.
The Reagans
They met in nineteen fifty one,
They wed in fifty-two.
He was the kindest loving man,
That Nancy ever knew.
She gave up acting to stay home,
As mother and as wife.
She stuck with Ronald, thick and thin,
They built a happy life.
Oh sure there were some trying times,
But they still had a plan.
Together they would face the world,
She stood beside her man.
With her support, he did become,
The best that he could be.
It was their strong relationship,
That made them strong, you see.
For all those years she held his hand,
Stayed by him till the end.
The greatest gift we have on earth,
Is having a true friend.

American
You said what I was thinking,
As if my thoughts youd read.
Afterwards I wasnt sure,
It wasnt what Id said.
You spoke about America,
And all that made her great.
You helped restore that greatness,
Before it was too late.
You did your job so calmly,
Inspiring to us all.
Like when you spoke to Gorbachev,
You said, Tear down this Wall !
Ronald Reagan, youll be missed,
But you have earned your rest.
Among the ranks of mortals,
You were one of the best.
Within my thoughts, I'll keep you,
Where you have been so long.
Im glad youre in a better place,
With Him, where you belong.
Conspiracy Guy 6-7-2004
Ronald Reagan,
Until our time has come along,
Until our job is done.
Until we leave the mortal world,
Until we all are one.
Some day rewards we will receive,
Yes those rewards we've earned.
We will be thankful you were here,
So much from you we learned.
We learned that power comes through strength,
Applied with calm and grace.
We know we'll join you there some day,
There in that Better Place.
The Lord sent Ronald Reagan here,
And now back home He takes him.
We'll say a prayer for his dear wife,
From all of us who love them.
Conspiracy Guy. June 5, 2004
Today, and each day this week is "Honor Ronald Reagan" day.
May God bless you!
Morning, Pippin!
You gonna get Friday off?
