Many FReepers have knowledge to share about improving and maintaining health and would like to share it and learn from others; and others may not know much yet but want to learn. Some of us don't have much money for good insurance or doctors, some want to try other methods besides prescription meds, and some have experience in treating and solving health problems.
More and more "regular" doctors have accepted treatment methods such as the benefits of acupuncture, massage for many conditions, better diet, use of herbs and so on. There are limits, and often side effects, to some standard medical efforts.
My field is Ayurvedic herbalism and related measures, and have a lot of information I can post when I have time. I have seen herbs and sometimes dietary changes help people (including myself) with issues such as rheumatoid arthritis, high BP, gallstones, kidneystones, repeated boils, UTIs, prostate problems, insomnia, allergies, urinary incontinence, and many more. I hope to learn a lot from others with their knowledge and experience.
There are many "old fashioned" home care methods that were in common use a few generations ago that actually work and are cheap, such as castor oil packs, fomentations using alternating hot and cold water, and the like, which are easy to do. I am sure there is a lot of knowledge here on Free Republic that can be shared.
I would like this thread to stay civil without distruption, so my request is that people who think natural health methods are bunkum, make your own thread.
I will post sources for all the herbs tomorrow.
Thank you for all this info..
Did you have articles or info on taking dog dewormer for cancer?
Thank you for all the info. You have great knowledge.
Here’s the sunscreen I offer my guests when they visit:
One ounce of coconut oil
One ounce of beeswax
One ounce of shea butter
Carrot seed oil, 20 drops
Half an ounce of raspberry seed oil
One teaspoon of vitamin e oil
Directions:
1. Using a double boiler on low heat, melt the butters, beeswax and coconut oil.
2. Take them off the heat and leave them to cool down a bit.
3. Add the carrot seed oil, vitamin e oil and raspberry oil.
4. Transfer the mixture into a glass jar.
5. Leave it to cool down overnight and you can start using it the next day.
Most Americans take pills daily.
Percent of persons using at least one prescription drug in the past 30 days: 48.6% (2015-2018)
Percent of persons using three or more prescription drugs in the past 30 days: 24% (2015-2018)
Percent of persons using five or more prescription drugs in the past 30 days: 12.8% (2015-2018)
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/drug-use-therapeutic.htm
A new survey finds 55 percent of Americans regularly take a prescription medicine – and they’re taking more than ever.
The number of prescriptions filled for American adults and children rose 85 percent between 1997 and 2016, from 2.4 billion to 4.5 billion a year, according to the health research firm Quintile IMS. During that time, the U.S. population rose 21 percent.
Almost 70 percent of Americans take at least one prescription medication, and more than half take at least two, according to a new study by researchers at the Mayo Clinic. The most common prescriptions are for antibiotics, antidepressants and opioid painkillers.
One-fifth of Americans are taking five or more prescription drugs, CBS Atlanta reports.
Very interesting. Where do you get raspberry seed oil, and which ingredients are the main sun blockers?
Thanks for this info. Sun causes so much skin damage. I have friends who’ve lived in HI their whole lives or most of their lives, many surfed or were otherwise in the sun, and some have patches of skin cancer.
I realized early on that sun tanning was not for me. Wore big hat, avoided sun. Turning bright red and peeling was the only result.
Great info about toxic chemicals. I need to post more about home made non-toxic substitutes for some of them. And the pill popping. Tragic and crazy.
Our organic raspberry seed oil
https://mountainroseherbs.com/raspberry-seed-oil?
Raspberry and Carrot are the main blockers. Coconut is a sun blocker and a carrier. The Shea butter is a carrier, but has no SPF. Beeswax firms it all up a bit. It’s more of a balm than a lotion. Vit E is for preservation.

Pinging the list again (freepmail me to get on/off the list). Updated Cancer info, and people have posted some good stuff too.
Here is my updated info on help with cancer. Has some more info on using dewormers for can cancer, and will contact two freepers who may have more info on how to use. IIRC one of the fenbendazole links has dosage info. I will post herb sources for this and the heart health herbs in a bit.
Turkey Tails - Coriolus versicolor
A tree fungus that grows mostly on dead hardwood. Used in China and Japan for cancer; strengthens immune system and has anti-cancer benefits.
I used this brand, tablets are huge but I put in a cup, added about 1/3 c. hot water, it dissolved fast, and drank it.
https://www.amazon.com/Planetary-Herbals-Coriolus-Spectrum-Powerful/dp/B006X1ER6I
Other brand I used. I do not use herbs from China, so check sources.
Flax seeds, Shatavari and Vites are especially for breast cancer (also for prostate cancer).
Flax seeds (at least 3 T) especially used ground eaten in cottage cheese, or however one can get them down.
Shatavari Asparagus racemosus
Immune strengthener, for conditions of debility, support during cancer treatments, especially good for breast or prostate cancer, can take long term.
Vitex/Chaste Tree Berry - helps protect and reduce lumps in breast, also generally anti-cancer.
Ashwaganda
Immune strengthener, conditions of debility, stress and many other benefits, can take long term
Guduchi Tinospora cordifolia
Builds immune system, clears channels, strong detoxifier without weakening the body, good support for people with cancer, broad spectrum antimicrobial, helps metabolism, also can take long term.
Manjista Rubia cordifolia-radix
Anti-tumor both benign and cancer, clears blood of toxins, promotes circulation, promotes wound healing, anti-inflammatory, other uses as well (gall/kidney stones and more)
Neem - Azadiracta indica
Used for tumors (benign) and cancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and much more
Matcha – or any green tea, matcha is the best for using as anti-cancer (recommend getting only Japanese)
Naturopath recommended, and I found matcha is stronger in the constituents said to be helpful against cancer
Green tea and green tea polyphenols (GTPs) are reported to inhibit carcinogenesis and malignant behavior in several diseases.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6164790/
Early clinical studies suggest that the polyphenols in tea, especially green tea, may play an important role in the prevention of cancer. Researchers also believe that polyphenols help kill cancerous cells and stop them from growing. https://www.mountsinai.org/health-library/herb/green-tea
Ito En Matcha – plain, below is sweetened, a lot cheaper

Graviola – Annona Muricata , Soursop leaf extract
Not much info out there, but considered to have many uses, including helping growth of new healthy tissues; has helped cure very bad GERD, and much anecdotal anti-cancer evidence
Turmeric -
Anti-cancer, wound healing, anti-inflammatory, helps circulation and a lot more
Prunella – Self-heal, Heal-all Prunella vulgaris
Used in China against cancer, also anti-viral/anti-bacterial, high BP, fevers
Melatonin
Recommended by my Naturopath MD, use standard dosage. I react badly to it (very rare) so couldn’t use.
Commonly available.
Modified Citrus Pectin
Recommended by my Dr, said to help scavange cancer cells in the system and remove from the body. Especially useful around surgery, biopsy or other procedures. I used this brand, there are many others.
Another brand that looks good and has useful info and reviews:
Red Clover
Traditionally used to help in cancer treatment, primarily breast cancer, and blood cleansing. I have not used but this is a good brand, or make tea and drink.
Licorice [if high BP is an issue use de-glycerized. ]
Helpful to protect liver during cancer chemo treatments, anti-inflammatory,anti-viral, good for hyperacidity and many other benefits
Red Root
Recommended by my Dr as the two sentinal lymph nodes had cancer in and around. Red Root is specific for cleansing the lymph nodes and system. It also helped a friend with recurring swollen lymph nodes. Dosage recommended was for 5 days a week for a couple of months, I can’t remember exactly, but use carefully.
Vit D3
Important immune support, with larger doses one needs to be careful about balancing.
Quercetin
I did not know about Quercetin when I had cancer, but it sounds like something to add.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4808895/
“Quercetin, a flavonoid found in fruits and vegetables, has unique biological properties that may improve mental/physical performance and reduce infection risk [1]. These properties form the basis for potential benefits to overall health and disease resistance, including anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antioxidant, and psychostimulant activities, as well as the ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation, platelet aggregation and capillary permeability, and to stimulate mitochondrial biogenesis [2]. Therefore, there is a pressing need for well-designed clinical trials to evaluate this novel dietary supplement further. This article reviews effects of quercetin on inflammation and immunity in mental and physical performance and health.”
Some anti-parasite medicines have been helpful in treating cancer, difficult to get doctors to prescribe so people are using the animal version which is much cheaper and exactly the same:
Levamisole ... but more prominently reviewed: fenbendazole

Ivermectin - there is no dosage information, if someone wants to take it they can contact me or do searches. It is a very safe drug. Links to info on Ivermectin and cancer. Ivermectin is commonly used for parasite infections, as well as bacterial and virus infections.

Thanks, I will look. Nothing from China, nothing!
Sweetiepiezer - in case you haven’t seen, the long post with cancer info does have articles at the end about Ivermectin and fenbendazole’s use in cancer treatments. Regarding dosage, I just pinged two freepers who are more knowledgeable than me about this.
Pinging the list, I hope I’m not doing too much pinging.
I’m going to post a few peaceful meditation and music videos. We really need to back off of horrible news regularly.
This one I’ve done many times and used to teach it. It is very deeply relaxing to the body and mind.
