Carville: There Will Be Civil Unrest — Over Economy
NewsMax ^ | June 6, 2011 | Dan Weil

If the bleak job market doesn’t improve soon, both the country and President Barack Obama will suffer the consequences, says star Democratic strategist James Carville. The country could even end up with citizen uprisings, the man who played a key role in much of former President Bill Clinton’s political success told radio talker Don Imus in an interview simulcast on Fox Business.

Carville bluntly told Imus: “You know, look — this is a humanitarian — you know, you’re smart enough to see this . . . People, you know, if it continues, we’re going to start to see civil unrest in this country. I hate to say that, but I think it’s imminently possible.”

The unemployment rate rose to 9.1 percent in May, while the economy generated only 54,000 jobs — and statistics indicate that most of them were for starter positions at fast-food giant McDonald’s.

“If 54,000 new jobs a month is the new standard, it will be a very bad 2012 for Obama,” Carville said.

To be sure, the job gains in previous months were higher, and that trend could resume, he said. In addition, Republicans don’t have too much in the way of effective job programs, either, he argues.....

There aren’t enough soldiers in the entire world to make that one stick.

What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army?

It’s not the handguns - - it’s the Remington 700s and the scopes.

Interestingly, America’s socialists (aka, “The Democrat Party”) STILL look to European countries like Greece, France, Spain, etc., as models for what they want to do to America. I am not joking.

I predict that 500 round blocks of .22LR will be the gold bars of the future.

So...I'm a really rich man and didn't realize it?

Plus Carville realizes that are many Americans out there who will use their 2nd Amendment rights.

Some people simply fail to see the writing on the wall.

I'll admit to being the Great Picker of Nits here, but seriously, you need a new crutch phrase.

The "writing on the wall" cliché comes from the OT prophet Daniel, chapter five of his book which describes the events at Belshazzar's feast. At that time, the son of Nebuchadnezzar was throwing yet another drunken orgy highlighted by his guests and their whores swigging booze from the confiscated Temple vessels and praising the gods of gold and silver (from which the Temple articles were fashioned). This offense exceeds photographing a crucifix in a container of urine, or burning a holy book, and is more in line with sodomy in the Ark of the Covenant.

The hand writing on the wall did not go undetected, but was instantly noticed by the thousands in the room, with the greatest reaction by the intended recipient, the king. The party immediately ended as the king physically broke down and cried for the astrologers, magicians and soothsayers to come in immediately and offer an interpretation with the reward of one third of the kingdom.

The message was one of Holy Judgment against the nation and Belshazzar was dead before sunrise. Powerful message from the Almighty Creator regarding profound desecration of items from His Temple for Worship to Him, producing a world changing response and the death of the world's strongest leader and break-up of the world's most powerful nation, leading to a story still being told and preached with awe thousands of years later by people all over the world.

Now how exactly do the victimized white farmers fit into that context so that this cliché has any meaning? I hate seeing powerful Biblical imagery profaned in such a way where powerful world changing judgment is being misapplied to the victims of some petty godless dictator.

This is the real zombie apocalypse that we should be concerned about. And that little CDC preparation paper left out the most important items from the list of supplies that you will NEED: guns, LOTS of ammo, and high capacity magazines.

LMAO!!
You crack me up, Bunky!

The phrase 'the writing on the wall' has come to signify a portent of doom, or the end of an organization or activity. To attribute to someone the ability to "read the writing on the wall" has come to signify the ability to foresee (not necessarily supernaturally) an inevitable decline and end.

The political class won't be nearly as safe as they think they are when something happens.

Agreed. When things get bad, I wouldn't give a plug nickel for the life of anyone cruising around in a limousine.

But I think the 'something' won't be the current unemployment issue. It will be tied to the value of the dollar and its status as reserve currency. I'm more interested in that and will be watching it closely. That and the interest rate on the 10 year Treasury bond.

President for Life?

With things that bad, that term in office could be shorter than if he'd been legally elected for a second term, IMHO.

He'd better hope he's wrong.

Widespread civil unrest, riots caused by the left? Think of Nixon winning despite a large chunk of votes for George Wallace.

I wouldn't assume they would get paid which might change things a bit.

-———with many demanding that the measures be put to popular vote———

The Athenian riff raff hasn’t changed in 2300 years. It still demands to vote to posses that which is not theirs.

Cities are doomed. Once the trucks stop running to them, bottled water will cease to be available and riots will follow
