Obama amputates our nuclear arms

Under President Obama’s new policy, however, if the state that has just attacked us with biological or chemical weapons is “in compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty,” explained Gates, then “the U.S. pledges not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against it.”

Imagine the scenario: Hundreds of thousands are lying dead in the streets of Boston after a massive anthrax or nerve gas attack. The president immediately calls in the lawyers to determine whether the attacking state is in compliance with the NPT. If it turns out that the attacker is up-to-date with its latest IAEA inspections, well, it gets immunity from nuclear retaliation. (Our response is then restricted to bullets, bombs and other conventional munitions.)

However, if the lawyers tell the president that the attacking state is NPT noncompliant, we are free to blow the bastards to nuclear kingdom come.

This is quite insane. It’s like saying that if a terrorist deliberately uses his car to mow down a hundred people waiting at a bus stop, the decision as to whether he gets hanged or 100 hours of community service hinges entirely on whether his car had passed emissions inspections.

Apart from being morally bizarre, the Obama policy is strategically loopy. Does anyone believe that North Korea or Iran will be more persuaded to abjure nuclear weapons because they could then carry out a biological or chemical attack on the United States without fear of nuclear retaliation?

The naivete is stunning.

“By whom of what” was meant to point directly at triggers but I do not know enough yet to confirm it. It could as easily have been a new plan for weapons being sent to Afghanistan but I agree it would have to be much more than that to gather these bigwigs.

A senior former Iranian military officer told me he thought the explosion was a satellite guided missile or a hand held laser on the ground.

Whose? He was not sure.

This is the closest I could find and it is hard to tell if they shook his hand or not. It is at the very beginning and goes by fast.

Thanks but it is a diferent clip. He actually shakes hands with three or four people in the clip, then the next one he approaches turns away and talks to a companion, wile crossing his hands across his own chest.

Obama hesitates an instant then walks off behind this person to the next ptential person but the clip cuts away then to something else.

The pointer is that he does shake several hands as he walks around the chairs befoer the incident happens. Longer than your clip.

Increasingly so. The Sepah are generally his supporters but as a splintering group many of whom which have baulked at wounding and killing fellow Iranians, are no longer a solid entity.

This goes way back to his son Mojtaba importing 15,000 of the very worst felons from Palestinian jails in 2007 to overcome this reluctance and setting them (Arabs, not Persians) upon the populace.

The Sepah is a paramilitary group andnot the “official” military, which has been largely disarmed and set aside. This Military, not fanatical MOslems like the Mullahs do not support the regime but need their paychecks to support their familiies.

Good point but IMHO he simply blundered and could not care less one way or another as his effort to draw attention to himself far supercedes unforeseen results. For him all this is a giggle.

We have to let go of the idea that Obama is clueless. He know exactly what he is doing - tearing this country apart piece by piece so it will no longer be unique in the world.

Absolutely- fundamentally changing America. Obama isn't all that concerned about a second term either. He's the left's bangalore torpedo, blowing a breach for socialism to storm the landscape.
