Obama amputates our nuclear arms
By: Charles Krauthammer
...snippet...
Under President Obamas new policy, however, if the state that has just attacked us with biological or chemical weapons is in compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty, explained Gates, then the U.S. pledges not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against it.
Imagine the scenario: Hundreds of thousands are lying dead in the streets of Boston after a massive anthrax or nerve gas attack. The president immediately calls in the lawyers to determine whether the attacking state is in compliance with the NPT. If it turns out that the attacker is up-to-date with its latest IAEA inspections, well, it gets immunity from nuclear retaliation. (Our response is then restricted to bullets, bombs and other conventional munitions.)
However, if the lawyers tell the president that the attacking state is NPT noncompliant, we are free to blow the bastards to nuclear kingdom come.
This is quite insane. Its like saying that if a terrorist deliberately uses his car to mow down a hundred people waiting at a bus stop, the decision as to whether he gets hanged or 100 hours of community service hinges entirely on whether his car had passed emissions inspections.
Apart from being morally bizarre, the Obama policy is strategically loopy. Does anyone believe that North Korea or Iran will be more persuaded to abjure nuclear weapons because they could then carry out a biological or chemical attack on the United States without fear of nuclear retaliation?
The naivete is stunning.

_______________
BLOUNTVILLE Two Monday morning 911 calls from Sullivan Central High School reveal a 13-minute standoff between a school resource officer and gunman, with administrators scrambling to get additional deputies a key to enter the locked down facility.
One witness, reportedly huddled behind a hallway corner near the standoff, relays to dispatch the events as they unfold. The other call comes from an unidentified staff member locked in the school office.
Near the end of the latter call, six shots are heard in the background, followed by a relieved, out-of-breath caller asking, Did you get him?
Police say Thomas Richard Cowan, 62, last known address 2060 Mountain View Road, Kingsport, entered the school about 9:15 a.m. Monday.
Sullivan County Sheriff Wayne Anderson said he pointed a loaded .380-caliber handgun at Principal Melanie Ridens head, igniting the impasse with School Resource Officer Carolyn Gudger.

Update: Ammunition storage facility explodes near Johnson City/Jonesborough line
By Becky Campbell

An ammunition storage facility explosion rocked a small neighborhood off Indian Ridge Road and sent a plume of smoke skyward that could be seen miles away.
It happened just after 10 a.m. at the dead end of Locust Lane, a short neighborhood road off Indian Ridge near West Market Street.
No one was injured in the blast, according to Johnson City Interim Fire Chief Mark Finucane.
The building, owned by Stan Widener, housed materials he used in his business, Widener Reloading and Shooting Supply Inc.

I mean really, what good reason would they have for the odd configuration of cell phones attached to various objects with liquid???<<<<
They are slowly training the cops to ignore them, no one will give the real one a second thought.
On the scanners, there is a lot of cop training going on and the cops are falling for it, they are so over worked, that is the truth, and there are so many kooks and criminals out there, that it is getting easier each day to label more types of calls as ‘crank’ calls and not bother to answer them.
Someone, somewhere must have information in order for those stocks to be doing so well while everything else is, for the most part, in the toilet.<<<
Some of the reports say it is Soros, behind the stock and gold prices.
For your knee, hot vinegar wraps will take the swelling down and I find that common alergy meds help with painful joints, they remove enough fluids from the system to ease the pain.
Will also add a few prayers for a quick healing for you.
Happy Birthday to your Dad!!!
It is about time that Arizona woke up, we have slept far too long.
Pinal County Sheriff, Paul Babeau, is welcome too, for he is taking some of the heat off Sheriff Joe Arpiaho [sp], who has put his all into the border safety problem.
I felt so sad for our country, that the o would take a states actions/problems to the UN, is beyond my comprehension.
I saw where they are using drones on the border now - my question is what do they do if they see people entering illegally?<<<
If the drone spots a group of illegals it will turn on its loudspeaker system and broadcast a welcome to obamerica message of “Welcome, be sure to pick up your drivers license and absentee voting ballot at the map sign, which is only 300 foot north of you.”
Nothing on the news yet. Updates will be appreciated.<<<
I haven’t read any other reports on it.
Yes, agree on them falling for these guys tricks and one day it will be real.
Example the guy who was in Discovery Channel’s offices yesterday (Lee) They knew about him from reports for years but wrote him off as a kook.
So, maybe he was a kook, but even kooks can get guns and bombs and kill people. They have to be nuts to do things like that, I would think it’s a prerequisite at the very least.
Maybe Soroswants to be king of the world.
Thanks for the info on vinegar and allergy meds. Dr gave me a hefty shot of cortisone in my knee which helped almost immediately. Could hardly walk in and walked out without having to use my mop handle cane which I unscrewed from the mop part to get there. :)
I have a feeling that the cholesterol meds I’m taking are doing something to my tendons/muscles which is creating all these problems. My other leg/ankle has a posterior tendon dysfunction and will eventually make that foot flat as heck and painful. That was another cortisone shot about 6 months ago.
I’m going to stop taking it and see what happens.
hahaha - so very sad but true!!! We still have two years to get rid of 0 and make him a -0 = back to Chicago or Kenya.
[START-ANNOUNCE] Background Report on Discovery Communications Building Hostage-Taking

The accompanying press release is available here:
http://www.start.umd.edu/start/announcements/Sept2010_Discovery_Building_Press_Release.pdf.
Following the September 1, 2010, hostage situation at the Discovery
Communications building in Silver Spring, Maryland, START has compiled
background information on terrorist activity in the District of Columbia and
Maryland, media targets, and hostage situations in the United States.
The gunman in this event, James Lee, was known to be a vocal advocate of
extreme views related to protecting the environment, including extreme
perspectives on population control, and his actions on September 1, 2010,
appear to be an extension of his ongoing efforts to support this agenda.
Given the nature of Lees political and social goals and his use of illegal
force, this incident would qualify as a terrorist incident, according to the
definition of STARTs Global Terrorism Database (GTD).
* WHAT ARE THE TRENDS OF TERRORISM OVER TIME IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AND
MARYLAND?
There have been over 100 terrorist attacks in the District of Columbia and
Maryland since 1970. Almost 60% of all attacks in this region occurred
during the 1970s. Recent incidents in Maryland include arson attacks by
suspected environmentalists on homes in 2004 and 2005. In Washington, D.C.,
recent attacks include anthrax-laced letters sent to the offices of Senator
Patrick Leahy, Senator Tom Daschle, and the United States Supreme Court in
2001 and letters containing ricin addressed to the White House in 2003 and
Senator Bill Frist in 2004. The most deadly terrorist attack in the
D.C.-area occurred on September 11, 2001, when an American Airlines jet flew
into the Pentagon, located in Arlington, Virginiaabout 2 miles from
Washington, D.C.

Six Years Later, Mourners Remember Beslan Massacre
September 1st, 2010
A memorial service for victims of the 2004 Beslan school hostage crisis is being held at the site of the school in the republic of North Ossetia.
Ella Kesaeva, leader of the victim advocacy movement Voice of Beslan, said that the memorial began Wednesday morning at 9:15 am the moment when Chechen and Ingush militants seized the school, demanding an end to the Second Chechen War.
“There are a lot of people,” said Kesaeva of the memorial. According to Interfax, about 3000 people came to honor the dead, including relatives of the children and teachers killed and the leadership of the republic, headed by President Taymuraz Mamsurov.
Portraits of the victims, including special forces operatives who were killed in the raid that ended the three-day siege, were hung on the walls of the school’s sports arena. Many visitors laid flowers and lit candles in their memory.
The memorial is planned to last until September 3, when a delegation is expected to come from the European Parliament.
A statement published Wednesday from Voice of Beslan issued the latest of many demands for an objective investigation of how the Russian authorities dealt with the hostage crisis. On the third day of the siege, federal security forces controversially used tanks and flamethrowers to raid the school. In the end, at least 334 of the more than 1100 hostages died in the operation, among them 186 children. “We feel that the use of heavy machinery during the raid was a war crime,” said Kesaeva.
The organization believes that the way in which the Russian authorities dealt with the siege violated the articles of the European Convention on Human Rights that guarantees the right to life and freedom from torture.
In an open letter to Russian President Dmitri Medvedev published on the organization’s website on Wednesday, parents of children killed in the raid asked the head of state to remember “the wounds of the Beslan tragedy.” For more than two years, they said, the president has ignored parents’ requests to hold an objective investigation, forcing them to look to other avenues for help.
“For six years, the official agencies have demonstrated their unwillingness to hold an objective investigation,” reads the letter, “so we are forced to appeal to competent international associations to carry out an objective investigation.”
The Beslan hostage crisis became the basis for a variety of measures to consolidate power within the Russian federal government. Under President Vladimir Putin, law enforcement agencies were given a broader range of authority, and the direct election of the heads of federal regions was abolished; these leaders are now nominated by the president and voted on by local legislatures. Critics argue that the government took advantage of the tragedy to pull through these and other similar measures, which they say are detrimental for democracy in the country.

Why not check on natural cures?
I paid $5.00 a day for a leg cramp cure from the doc, then heard on the radio that they had a magic mineral cure and checked, LOL, I had the same ingredients on hand and they work, a so common blend that even Walmart sells them. [As I recall.]
Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc one pill per day and no leg cramps, which were becoming unbearable.
It rang a bell for me, for years ago, I bought the same formula with Vitamin E for Bill’s leg cramps and they worked for him, at that time a health food store sold the combo.
I just posted 2 new posts that will interest you.
You must not get sick now.

Cyber vigilantes: Citizen hackers go to war against terrorists
Do private citizens, who are clearly in the crosshairs of the enemy, have
the right to self-defense by hacking or otherwise engaging on jihad sites?

Most terrorist groups are now leveraging the Internet to recruit, train, and
spread propaganda, especially “global brands” such as al-Qaeda. Criminal
groups and foreign intelligence services appear to have demonstrated
electronic theft and sabotage capabilities. In the last year, social
networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace have all been used
as vehicles for international and domestic terrorist communication.
