The Las Vegas Police scanner, shows that at least they are on the alert for strange parked cars, for they are checked at once and from the number of calls, they must have educated the public to watch for them.
Las Vegas is only a hundred miles from me and the closest large city.
Muslim Working at British Airways Charged with Terrorism

Rajib Karim, 30, from Newcastle was charged with preparing an act of terrorism or assisting another person to commit an act of terrorism between the April 13 2006 and February 25 this year.
Other charges accused him of preparing acts of terrorism abroad, thought to be the Yemen, and sending money to others ‘knowing or having reasonable cause to suspect that it would or might be used for the purposes of terrorism.’
Karim was held after counter-terrorism officers swooped on the call centre where he worked in Newcastle.
He was among 800 staff dealing with passenger bookings in one of BA’s two UK-based call centres.
Staff can access to details of thousands of flights and are familiar with basic security procedures.

The Obama administration has from the start seen Syria as a leading case for engagement. Barack Obama said so during his presidential campaign (announcing he would meet Bashar al Assad without preconditions) and repeated this policy view again last summer:

Osirak reactor by the Israel Air Force in 1981. The Osirak reactor was
the key element in the Iraqi nuclear program: a single target which,

Israeli children were walking around with little brown boxes at their
sides that contained the gas mask kit they were prepared to put on their

Captured Taliban No. 2 ‘Singing Like a Male Canary’ (back)

The former operations chief and second in command of the Afghan Taliban has been ‘singing like a male canary’ since his arrest last month in Karachi, Pakistan, counterintelligence officials said Wednesday.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, who was captured by Pakistani authorities in a raid, has become ‘a vital asset in gathering information on the Taliban and other extremist groups operating in the region,’ an unnamed Pakistani official told The Washington Examiner.
