A Native American tribe that calls the Capay Valley in Yolo County home is looking to move cannabis growers to another part of the county and away from the valley. In beautiful Capay Valley, cannabis farms are seen by some as a burden. “I have never locked my doors in 30 years until recently,” said Charles Opper from Rumsey. For Opper, who supports the legalization of marijuana, cannabis farms are causing him headaches. “Gasoline generators run 24/7. Refrigeration on these containers run 24/7,” he said. He said the traffic has picked up on the north end of the Capay Valley...

Astronomy experts with the Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia and the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico have discovered six new Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) emitting from a region far beyond our Milky Way galaxy, according to a recent report in the Astrophysical Journal. The discovery — made in the direction of the Auriga constellation — has prompted wild speculation that aliens could be trying to get in touch. It is significant considering the fact that at least 17 FRBs have now been detected in this area and is the only known instance in which these signals have been found...

Washington (CNN)The President of the United States is willing to do just about anything to promote his signature health care law, and that includes wielding a selfie stick and dropping a "YOLO, man," on camera. The same day the White House announced that Islamic State terrorists’ only remaining American hostage was killed, President Barack Obama uttered a phrase that means “You only live once.” The president was clowning around for a BuzzFeed video on Obamacare when he said, “YOLO,” a light-hearted moment that Fox News anchor Heather Childers called inappropriate and insensitive considering its timing. “The president says, ‘YOLO, man!’ And for people at home who may not know what that stands for, YOLO stands for ‘you only live once,’” Childers said on Friday’s show, talking specifically to liberal panelist Juan Williams. “Well you know...

For the uninitiated, YOLO = You Only Live Once. It's an internet meme that probably started off with good intentions about seizing the day, but degenerated into jackassery...Not unlike all things liberal.

In a chillingly prophetic, weird course of events, promising rap artist Inkyy was on Twitter moments before dying in a 120 mph car crash. What makes the story so bone-tingling horrific was his last tweet: "Drunk af going 120 drifting corners #F***It. YOLO." YOLO, of course, stands for You Only Live Once in web speak.

Saying he questions a sovereign Indian tribe’s role in a local government process, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger late on Friday vetoed the bill that would have made the Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians an official partner in managing Conaway Ranch, if Yolo County officials acquire it through eminent domain. The legislation, AB 1747 by Assemblywoman Lois Wolk, D-Davis, would have made the tribe a member alongside Yolo County officials and others of the joint powers authority created for Conaway Ranch. The tribe has offered to loan the county money for the acquisition. The county and tribe say the veto does not...

WOODLAND, Calif. (AP) - Environmentalists sued the Yolo County Board of Supervisors on Thursday for approving the expansion of the Cache Creek Dairy without a permit. The Sierra Club said supervisors caved to pressure from the dairy's owner to give their blessing to nearly double the size of the county's largest dairy - from 1,500 to 2,800 cows. The environmental group said that if the county required a permit it would have triggered an environmental review to determine how much air and water pollution the expansion would create. Four years ago, in response to the dairy's creation, the board amended...
