At last report, there were three confirmed fatalities in the landslide, one known survivor and three people still missing. A massive landslide took out three homes on a highway outside of Wrangell late Monday. Three people had been found dead as of Tuesday night, and search and rescue efforts continue, along with an outpouring of community aid. A runaway cow was spotted sprinting down Interstate 75 in Holly, Michigan on Sunday before it was wrangled and returned to greener pastures. Michigan State Police shared a clip of the dramatic pursuit of the farm animal, which involved wranglers on horses and four-wheelers, on Twitter. With anti-government sentiments roiling in the aftermath of Cliven Bundy’s Nevada standoff, government workers in western Utah are stripping BLM logos from their vehicles after two motorists brandished a gun and displayed a threatening sign at a federal wrangler who was driving Tuesday in Juab County. The wrangler was driving a load of horses and burros north on Interstate 15 about 11 a.m. near Mills when a dark blue Dodge 1500 extended-cab pickup pulled up alongside the wrangler. Grizzlies are high profile this year. A lingering winter and late berry crop kept bears in proximity to humans longer than normal, perhaps contributing to a stream of headlines about grizzlies killing people and people killing grizzlies. Meanwhile, a young lady on a big horse charged out of the pack of grizzly stories near Glacier National Park. In a cloud of dust, the 25-year-old wrangler likely saved a boy’s life while demonstrating that skill, quick-thinking and guts sometimes are the best weapons against a head-on charging grizzly.

I would like to hear if any freepers out there are Jeep aficionados, and if so, what esperiences they have had with customizing for capable off road use, while maintaing some reasonable on road (winter daily driver) demeanor. I had a Comanche years ago, and did nothing with it, and have a Commander now, which is a real softie. My dream is an 08 or 09 WUR 4dr hard top with the 5.7L conversion from AEV. What say you all?
