John Stossel interviews James Lindsay, famous for fighting wokeness on the left. Lindsay is vigorously investigating wokeness on the right, mostly but not limited to those following the ideas of Nick Fuentes. ---- A new section of the right is foolishly bashing liberty … and even embracing Marxist ideas. That's why some call them the "woke right."

Imagine a scenario in which large numbers of white people start saying that they “feel black,” and that because of this feeling, and their enjoyment of stereotypically “black behavior,” they are now not just black themselves, but the most marginalized and vulnerable type of black person. Imagine them insisting that they should be the main focus of all activism meant to help PoC. Imagine them having operations to darken their skin and mimic stereotypically black features. Imagine them walking around in blackface, and saying it’s the exact same thing as actually being black. Imagine them being honored as black citizens...

The Golden Globes has snubbed popular right-leaning podcasters out of a nomination in its inaugural best podcast category. Leading up to its 83rd annual ceremony, the Golden Globes announced back in May that they would unveil the first ever podcast category. Since then, speculation about the potential nominees circulated, with right-wing host Ben Shapiro going as far as campaigning. In November, Shapiro plastered billboards in Times Square with ads that said 'For Your Golden Globes Consideration.' But the six nominees have sparked controversy across social media, leaving people questioning why the biggest MAGA firebrand podcasters have been left out. The...

Secretary of State Marco Rubio directed all diplomats to revert to using the Times New Roman typeface in official communications and criticized his predecessor for shifting to Calibri, a font deemed too woke for the Trump administration. Two years ago, Rubio’s predecessor, Antony Blinken, switched to Calibri, a softer, simpler-shaped, and wider font than Times New Roman, in part to assist individuals with certain visual disabilities such as low vision and dyslexia.

Victoria’s Secret brought sexy back – and it’s paying off. The iconic Fashion Show on Oct. 15 turbo charged its sales this fall with the company reveling in the “halo” effect of the super model catwalk, chief executive Hillary Super said on an earnings call Friday. “This year’s fashion show was a defining moment in how we have evolved into the new era of sexy,” she said. “The show serves as a powerful acquisition engine.” The company saw its shares soar by more than 15% late Friday morning after it raised its full-year guidance for 2025 and turned in its...

Ken Burns has set himself the impossible task of retelling a national origin story that all Americans will embrace as their own. He began work on the resulting six-part, twelve-hour series, The American Revolution, nearly a decade ago, just as the so-called Great Awokening got going. The years 2015-2025 have been energizing and inspiring for culture warriors and historical polemicists. But Burns is neither. His craft consists in conveying, intelligently, artfully and respectfully, the mainstream historical consensus. And that consensus has become so politicized it no longer meaningfully exists. Burns’s earnest effort to reconjure it merely results in incoherence. The...

The Boy Scouts of America taught me valuable lessons about tying knots, lighting fires, and what it means to be a man, but I’m glad to see the Department of War reconsidering its historic partnership with the Scouts. Founded in 1910, the Boy Scouts of America taught young men wilderness survival skills, fostered friendship, and trained boys to become citizens and leaders. In order to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, a young man must not just demonstrate mastery of many skills but also plan his own project, leading others. For these and other reasons, the military awards an automatic...

Ken Burns and PBS want to teach us the history of the American Revolution. That’s objectively laudable, but from the opening seconds of his new six-part, 12-hour-long series on the Revolution, Burns is off to a truly ludicrous start. Why do I say that? Because instead of beginning with the events that led to the break with Britain in 1775, Burns (after an anodyne quote from Thomas Paine) opens with an Indian diatribe about land. That is not surprising. Lest there be any question as to what Burns intends for us to learn about the American Revolution, Burns stated in an...

Scouting America responded on Tuesday to a reported memo from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth seeking to cut ties with the organization, saying it was “surprised and disappointed” by the potential policy change, as the military has given its support to the Scouts since 1937. Congress requires the Pentagon to support Scouting America’s Jamboree, lending trucks, ambulances and medical teams free of charge. “The Scouting movement has had a strong relationship with our nation’s military going back more than a century,” according to the group. “From the tremendous support of the West Virginia National Guard at our National Jamborees to Scout...

The Fighting Irish may be tearing it up on the football field (and once again toying with major dad's emotions as they head into the college playoffs), but back at the auld sod from whence the football team springs - the CATHOLIC University in South Bend, Indiana - there has been some verbal artillery flying and battles fought of their own since the 10th of November. That was the day the University announced a set of 'refreshed staff values' as part of a fall staff town hall.University leaders discussed Notre Dame’s response to the changing higher education environment, academic updates,...

VIDEOWhich is funnier? Seeing an "authentic" Native American dance consisting of such moves as the Harlem Shuffle crossed over with the Spring Slide or watching shocked woke Garden Grove, CA school board members trying to stifle any reaction to that dance for fear of being thought culturally insensitive? If they smile or laugh they could be accused of the latter but by showing disapproval they could be accused of disrespect. So what to do? Best to just FREEZE and display no reaction while praying that the Native American displaying moves from the ancient era of the 70s and 80s when...

In his second term, President Donald Trump certainly hasn’t been afraid to go bold — and now it could be the stock market’s turn. The slate of reforms under consideration could be the biggest positive development for our financial markets since the early days of the Reagan administration, if not since the creation of the federal securities laws themselves. It could also finally put the brakes on the rise of “woke capital.” For years, political activists have been using America’s biggest corporations as vehicles for their social agenda. They call it “ESG” — environmental, social and governance investing — but...

OPINION/ANALYSIS The Battalion student newspaper at Texas A&M university does not seem to be a fan of conservative student thought. An analysis of the 60 opinion pieces focused on politics published since November 2024 found that nearly all of them — 50 — leaned liberal (35), left-leaning (5), far-left (5), and liberal satire (5). Only 7 of the opinion political pieces were moderate or neutral, and a total of three were conservative, or a ratio of almost 17 to 1 liberal to conservative. The research was conducted by student Justino Russell, who was inspired to dig into the analysis after...

Adam Johnston @adamkjohnston Less than 3 minutes into the Ken Burns documentary on the American Revolution, and we get: 1. White people are bad. 2. Native Americans had a centuries-old democracy before British colonists arrived. 3. Benjamin Franklin copied the Native American blueprint.

The University of Notre Dame has ixnayed and expunged the school’s historic Catholic mission from its staff values and instead chosen to adopt a “refreshed” set of generic concepts like “community.”According to the Daily Caller:The University of Notre Dame has dropped the school’s historic Catholic mission from its staff values and adopted a “refreshed” set of generic concepts like “community” instead, though it will still identify as a “Catholic research university.”The Catholic school’s list of staff values previously included requiring that one “Understands, accepts, and supports the Catholic mission of the university and fosters values consistent with that mission.” Now,...

Washington (AFP) – In a sharp change, the United States said Thursday that its signature human rights report would start tracking countries that support gender changes for children and diversity and equity programs. Specifically, the report will ask US embassies to report on countries that allow "chemical or surgical mutilation of children in operations that attempt to modify their sex." Rubio also asked embassies to track "enforcement of policies like affirmative action of diversity, equity and inclusion that 'provide preferential treatment' to workers on the basis of race, sex or caste." The issues reflect top priorities for Trump since he...

Target sinks to new low as customers flee in droves - forcing bosses into drastic move Inflation-weary shoppers are steering clear of Target's messy, understaffed stores. On Wednesday morning, the Minneapolis chain with 1,980 stores said third-quarter profit took yet another hit, deepening a slide that has now stretched across three straight years. Target's slump comes from a four-headed monster: shabby stores, sinking staff morale, jittery investors, and a leadership shake-up waiting in the wings. And the pain isn't ending anytime soon. Executives warned the sales slump will drag straight through the critical holiday shopping season. To stop the bleeding,...

A former Air Force Intelligence officer has pleaded guilty to lying to law enforcement when she claimed her then-estranged astronaut wife committed the first crime in space, according to authorities. Summer Worden, 50, faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 maximum fine for falsely alleging top NASA astronaut and then-spouse Anna McClain accessed Worden’s bank account from the International Space Station, the US Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Texas said in a press release. Worden’s guilty plea Thursday put an end to a bitter legal feud with McClain. Worden alleged McClain had guessed the password and illegally...
