The Jaguar CEO is stepping down months after leading a controversial "woke" rebrand campaign for the auto company.
Jaguar Land Rover CEO Adrian Mardell is set to retire after three decades at the luxury car company and serving as CEO for three years, a spokesperson for the automaker announced on Thursday, Reuters reported.
The British car brand turned heads last year with its release of a new ad, which featured a reimagined logo under the slogan "Copy Nothing."
The ad featured androgynous models in brightly colored, over-the-top outfits, including one man wearing a dress, along with other slogans such as "create exuberant," "live vivid," "delete ordinary" and "break moulds."
The ad did not feature a car throughout its entire 30-second run.
The video blew up on social media, drawing tens of thousands of comments and nearly 47 million views in 24 hours.
Shortly after the ad premiered, X users piled onto the company for releasing what they called a "Bud Light 2.0" campaign by appearing to focus on wokeness and modernism over selling cars.
"This just made me want to sell my Jaguar and I don’t even own a Jaguar," conservative corporate activist Robby Starbuck joked.
Columnist Jon Gabriel wrote, "This is so the wrong timing for this. I can understand the C-suite being conned into this in 2022, but you have completely misread the moment. Bud Light 2.0."

Amen to that.
“”Brit twit.””
Possibly lit Brit twit. Nobody sober could be that stupid. Could they?
That didn’t take long!
Have to admit - with all the stupid commercials out there, this one was one of the worst - they plugged freaks and left the car out of it....
When the Infinity car brand began years ago, they started with abstract ads on the Sunday morning talkers. Just landscapes with a road running through them. I figured they were selling a new upscale car based on where the ads were placed (Sunday wonk fests) and the one thing missing from what would otherwise be a car ad.
Didn’t realize there are not enough freaks out there to make a profit . Probably thought everyone will love me when I do this ,LOL
I am sure he will walk away with seven figures $ as a parting agreement.

Liberals have finally begun to suffer with liberal fatigue, a side effect of Chronic Long-TDS.
I’m thinking that the mistake Jaguar made was thinking that the rest of the world would be understand this form of advertising and the message that they’re being sent about today’s society, when it really only works on people capable of receiving that message and understanding it, in other words, people who only are in the UK and a few other countries in Europe (personally, the ads look like total shit to me, but then I’m not ‘cultured’ like the UK types).
Most likely, they’ll now understand that relying on the UK market is not a good idea since the country is economically destroyed by trying to ‘punish’ Russia and Net Zero, so they really have to reach out to other countries, if they want to stay in business, and they may find people in those countries not as accepting of their message, so they’ll have to change it a bit.
