The U.S. National Security Council spokesman has suggested the best way for Moscow's tankers to avoid the British depleted uranium munitions being sent to Ukraine would be to retreat back across the border. London announced on Monday that it would send depleted uranium tank rounds—which are particularly effective in piercing enemy armor—along with the Challenger 2 main battle tanks being provided for Kyiv's use. The news touched off a furious reaction in Russia, where President Vladimir Putin falsely equated the munitions to nuclear weapons. NSC spokesman John Kirby on Wednesday dismissed the Kremlin's concerns about the depleted uranium munitions during...

“Tiger King” Joe Exotic — unable to find a president willing to release him from prison — says he’s running for the job himself as a Libertarian in 2024 and that he wants former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) to be his running mate. The eccentric former Oklahoma private zoo owner, convicted of hiring a hit man to kill animal rights activist Carole Baskin, has big ideas for US policy — including assassinating Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine. Exotic told The Post in a phone interview from his federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas, that he’d...

Former national security adviser John Bolton thinks President Biden "overstated the gravity of the situation we're in right now" when he suggested that the "prospect of Armageddon" is the highest it's been since the Cuban Missile Crisis. Bolton offered his observation in an interview Friday with CBS News senior investigative correspondent Catherine Herridge. .... Bolton said nuclear threats must be taken seriously, but he doesn't think the world is in quite the situation the president described. .... "Well, you know, [Putin's the the center of command and control of the Russian military," Bolton said. "National Command authority is what we...

An Ohio man charged after writing on Facebook that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez "should be shot" told police he was "very proud" that he did it. Timothy James Ireland, 41, was indicted in Toledo for making interstate threats against AOC in addition to separate counts of being felon and fugitive in possession of a firearm, the US attorney's office in Ohio announced on Friday. Officials say a concerned citizen reached out to U.S. Capitol Police on July 23 to warn of the threatening Facebook post, which they later confirmed was written by Ireland. "She should be shot. Can't fire me, my employer...

A 27-year-old man allegedly trespassed into Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's office in Queens Saturday afternoon, a police source told The Hill. The man sprayed a fire extinguisher while officers arrived creating a "cloud condition," said New York Police Department spokesman George Tsourovakas. He added that when the cloud dissipated, the man was seen holding a broken bottle. He then entered a utility closet but exited after officers persuaded him to do so, according to Tsourovakas. The man was then taken into police custody, Tsourvakas said, adding that charges against the man are pending.
