Male officers are far more likely than female officers to get entangled in police brutality cases, according to an advocacy group dismayed by a recent drop in the number of women in police jobs. Women comprise 12.7 percent of the personnel in large police departments, yet account for only 2 percent of the cases in which a complaint of excessive force is upheld, the National Center for Women and Policing said.
