<p>Former White House political adviser and sometime presidential speechwriter Dick Morris praised President Bush's inaugural address Thursday night as the best speech in more than 40-years - and one of the top inaugural addresses in American history.</p>
<p>"That was the greatest inaugural address since John F. Kennedy's and one of the five or six greatest of all time," Morris told the Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly. "It was beautiful. It was poetic. Those of you who didn't see it missed a lot," the one-time Clinton advisor said.</p>

After a marathon viewing of yesterday's presidential inauguration and parade, I have three questions. 1. What was served at the luncheon that cameras were prohibited from filming? 2. Does anyone else think Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen could play the Bush daughters? 3. Didn't it seem like the cameras always found Hilary Clinton? Those questions may sound trivial -- or at least two of them do. But, like the various networks and cable channels that spent most of the morning and afternoon covering events in Washington, I had a lot of time to kill between President Bush's swearing-in at noon, and...

Hats off to Laura Bush. The first lady smartly blew off the tradition of wearing headgear for yesterday's swearing-in ceremony. She also resisted the temptation to wear Beltway blue. Instead, a dazzling Mrs. Bush shed her matronly image by wearing two knockout ensembles created by Seventh Avenue kingpin Oscar de la Renta. Each outfit was elegant, age-appropriate — and unabashedly glamorous. Mrs. Bush started her exceptionally stylish day by walking Washington's power carpet in a show-stopping winter white cashmere coat, trimmed with subtle shimmering blue embroidery. FREEDOM? NO THANKS If you can believe this, President Bush's Inaugural speech is catching flack from some quarters, particularly American leftists and Euro-weenies, because he used the "F" word 27 times. This is an "F" word that is even more offensive to the left than the "F" word. Yup ... Bush said "Freedom" at least 27 times during the speech. Evidently Bush didn't get the booklet of instructions for Presidents making State of the Union or Inaugural speeches. You're supposed to talk about security, not freedom. Bush was talking about spreading freedom around the world, and much of the world...

Washington (CNSNews.com) - Counter-inaugural protesters Thursday accused President Bush of "co-opting Jesus" for political purposes. "He's always talking about symbols of evil, using Jesus as a political pawn," said Rod Murphy from a group called, "10,000 Jesuses." "The GOP and Bush sound like they have a mandate from Jesus, and I am sorry, but that is not the Jesus that I grew up with," Murphy told Cybercast News Service, noting his opposition to the war in Iraq. "We just want to remind people that the message of Jesus was something completely different than the Religious Right seems to be...

PEGGY NOONAN Way Too Much God Was the president's speech a case of "mission inebriation"? The inaugural address itself was startling. It left me with a bad feeling, and reluctant dislike. Rhetorically, it veered from high-class boilerplate to strong and simple sentences, but it was not pedestrian. George W. Bush's second inaugural will no doubt prove historic because it carried a punch, asserting an agenda so sweeping that an observer quipped that by the end he would not have been surprised if the president had announced we were going to colonize Mars. A short and self-conscious preamble led quickly to...

What do the Golden Globe awards and inaugural balls have in common? Well, they are quite lavish. In fact, one could say, lavish to the extreme. Yet, one is to celebrate our country’s greatness and the other celebrates its decadent excesses. Before I offend some of my liberal friends, let me say that there are two kinds of liberals. A type-one liberal is willing to listen to reason and consider both sides of a debate. Joe Lieberman is a good example of a type one, and there are many other equally good liberals with whom I have no problem. The...

They were pelted with snowballs, doused with pepper spray. They were outnumbered by police and by Bush loyalists, drowned out for the most part by the fanfare of the nation's 55th inauguration. The thousands of protesters who took to the streets to oppose President Bush's second swearing-in did succeed on at least one score: No one who came to Washington to celebrate the inauguration yesterday left without encountering them. The biggest disruption apparently occurred late last night, far from the center of inaugural action, in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Northwest Washington. Shortly before midnight, police clad in riot gear...

President Bush's Second Inaugural Address is the most fascinating one of recent times. It projects grand ambitions for the nation, domestic and foreign. Its greatness as a speech comes from its Lincolnian themes, not its Wilsonian ones, as commentators are maintaining. Its ambition involves the world and American politics, and the relationship between the two. In foreign policy its ambition was quite plain, calling for the overthrow of tyrannies and the establishment of democracies. Domestically, it responds to FDR's 1944 State of the Union Address, which called for a second, economic Bill of Rights and still serves as the touchstone...

(CNN) -- As George W. Bush was sworn in for a second term as U.S. president, his closest political allies around the world moved to congratulate him. Australia and Japan, two countries that have backed Bush's military intervention in Iraq with their own forces, praised Bush's role on the world stage and his call for freedom to combat tyranny. Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said the experience built up by Bush over the past four years meant he would continue to "actively contribute to world peace and stability." Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said Australia supported President Bush's call for...

Bush's Inaguration may be the most expensive in history, but that is with a lot of spin. To find one that is more expensive your need look no farther than left wing nut Bill Clinton's 1993 party Money the Clintons raised for the 1993 inauguration: $33 million, adjusted for inflation that’s $43.124 million. Money the Clintons raised for the 1997 inauguration: $29.7 million, adjusted for inflation that’s $34.805 million. Once agian the left is proving to be hypocritical as usual.

AMSTERDAM, Jan. 20 -- As foreign governments pondered their reactions to President Bush's inaugural speech Thursday, newspapers around the world reported it with particular emphasis on the religious tone and Bush's 27 references to "freedom" in the United States and abroad. Bush painted a vision of "an America that propagates freedom, democracy and prosperity around the world," an article on the Web site of the French newspaper Liberation said. "The problem is that with this speech, one has the impression of having heard it a thousand times, and no longer believing it." It added: "Not all the world strongly wants...
