Governor Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) said Wednesday on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria” that Republicans must embrace early voting. Anchor Maria Bartiromo said, “You are also urging Republicans take advantage of early voting. Talk to us about the Secure Your Vote Initiative how early voting could impact the election.” Youngkin said, “Well we have, we have our midterms this year huge elections entire House entire Senate up. I believe it is the most important election in America. The reason is that we can demonstrate in 24 short months that a state with completely controlled by liberal left can in fact...

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel on Tuesday urged members of her party to stop discouraging early voting and vote by mail. “Our voters need to vote early,” McDaniel told Fox News. “I have said this over and over again. There were many in 2020 saying, ‘Don’t vote by mail, don’t vote early.’ And we have to stop that and understand that if Democrats are getting ballots in for a month, we can’t expect to get it all done in one day.” Former President Trump was among the leading voices that questioned the security and validity of early and...

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is confident he can narrowly win the speakership in January, even if it takes multiple rounds of voting for it happen. McCarthy said Tuesday that if he does not reach the number of votes needed on January 3 to win on the first ballot — that is, 218 votes if all voting members are present and vote for a person, rather than vote “present” — then he plans to put up a fight to win on subsequent ballots.

For years, the ways in which voters in New York have been stymied by the state’s antiquated voting laws have stood in stark contrast to the state’s liberal reputation. During last year’s contentious midterm elections, New York was the only state in the nation that held separate state and federal primary elections, a bifurcation that almost seemed designed to suppress voter turnout — which is generally thought to favor incumbents. Early voting? Voting by mail? Same-day voter registration? All are fairly basic voting policies now found in many states, but not in New York. But with Democrats now in control...

Thousands of people were already camped out at a key early voting location in Houston on Monday morning, hours before voting was even set to begin. Nearly 2,000 people stood in line outside of the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center on West Gray near River Oaks in a scene that looked more like a Black Friday shopping morning.

The recent cyber theft of millions of personnel records from the federal government was sophisticated and potentially crippling, but hackers with just rudimentary skills could easily do even more damage by targeting voting machines, according to security experts. In many cases, even the electronic ballots could be manipulated remotely, according to a new report. The report found that the AVS WINVote machines Virginia has used since 2002 have such flimsy security that an amateur hacker could change votes from outside a polling location. “This means anyone could have broken into the machines from the parking lot,” said Cris Thomas, a...

Registered Democrats have out-voted Republicans by double-digit margins among ballots cast early in two bitter southern Senate races. But the political climate favors Republicans nationally, and the GOP remains bullish on its overall momentum toward gaining the Senate majority. State tallies of early voting put Democrats ahead of Republicans by nearly 18 percentage points among ballots cast early in Louisiana, where Sen. Mary Landrieu faces an uphill battle to keep her seat. And in North Carolina, Democrats hold an early 17-point lead as another Democratic incumbent, Sen. Kay Hagan, fights for re-election. Both margins are wider than in 2010, the...

Montgomery County, Maryland, is one of the wealthiest and most liberal counties in America. If there’s a dumb progressive idea that didn’t start there, it will get there sooner or later. Along those lines, the powers that be in Montgomery County are very concerned about low voter turnout. So concerned, in fact, the all Democrat County Council formed a “Right to Vote” Task Force to come up with ways to encourage more people to vote. The task force produced a 76-page report with more than a few suggestions that could raise a few eyebrows. Recommendations 1-3 are: 1. The Task...

How convinced may Robert Monroe have been that his vote in the 2012 presidential election mattered? So much so that the Wisconsin man allegedly cast an in-person absentee ballot in Shorewood on Nov. 1 then rented a car and drove some 250 miles to Lebanon, Ind., five days later, using his driver’s license from that state (he owns a home there) to do so. And that’s not all: When Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker faced a recall vote, Monroe voted five times, per a criminal complaint filed Friday. The 50-year-old has been charged with voter fraud after allegedly voting multiple times...

The government and media harangued voters to go to the polls Tuesday in the second and final day of Egypt’s presidential election, worried that turnout was weaker than expected in a vote in which the front-runner, former army chief Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, is trying to garner an overwhelming show of support. There were no official figures on turnout in the previous day’s voting. But monitoring groups said Monday saw moderate in some places and often thin or non-existent in other areas, particularly where Islamists—el-Sissi’s top opponents—dominate. El-Sissi, who removed Egypt’s first freely elected president last year, is poised for an almost...

“I don’t pretend to have all the answers,” President Obama told Ohio State students at their commencement on Sunday. “I’m not going to offer some grand theory on a beautiful day like this—you guys all have celebrating to do. I’m not going to get partisan, either, because that’s not what citizenship is about.” President Obama, stressing the theme of “citizenship,” said he would ask two things from the class of 2013—“to participate and to persevere. After all, your democracy does not function without your active participation. At a bare minimum, that means voting, eagerly and often.” … “Unfortunately, you’ve grown...

The Arkansas state Senate approved a measure on Tuesday to require voters to show photo identification before they can cast a ballot, sending it to Democratic Governor Mike Beebe who has not said whether he would sign it into law. The measure passed on a 22-12 vote along party lines in the state’s Republican-controlled Senate. It had already passed the Republican-led House on a 51-44 vote, with support from one Democrat. If it does become law, Arkansas would join the nearly three dozen states that have similar laws on the books, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. …

The heated debate over immigration has spurred Bernard Ortiz - and a handful of presidential candidates - to help mobilize Iowa's Latinos in an effort to shape the outcome of the state's upcoming caucuses and the 2008 presidential election. Ortiz, as a union worker, has helped hundreds of Latinos register to vote, while some presidential candidates have reached out beyond traditional mailings and phone calls to seek their support. For example, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, both Democrats, have introduced Latino outreach programs. Some Republicans have also made efforts to draw Latino voters, at least...

Here’s a plan for 2008. Suppose a Democrat wins a close presidential election. But the House and Senate are still very likely to remain in Republican hands. The GOP could then challenge the electoral vote certification, just like the Democrats did this year. The Republican majorities in the House and Senate could then decertify the electoral votes of narrowly-won blue states (they’d certainly have more grounds for claiming fraud than the Democrats did this year.) A Republican president would thus be elected. Why not? As they’ve demonstrated in 2004, Democrats would certainly do all of the above if they had a...

Reader Thomas Chiappetti sent us a link to this piece by Mark Belling on the groundwork that the Democrats are laying to commit voter fraud on a massive scale in Wisconsin: * * * This may be the election in which voter fraud plays such a decisive role that it can no longer be ignored or tolerated. If President Bush doesn't win easily, Democratic fraud will either swing the election to Kerry, or, at a minimum, provide the basis for endless legal challenges to the election's outcome. It has been reported in the mainstream press that the Kerry campaign has...
