The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) continues its epic struggle to understand the First Amendment. In the latest incident, the Muslim civil liberties group has asked government officials in Brevard County, Florida to deny the use of a county-owned meeting room to a group CAIR has tagged as “an anti-Muslim hate group,” reports the Orlando Sentinel.

When Meredith Vieira recently interviewed Donald Trump for NBC's Today show, she asked him whether he was concerned that people would have trouble taking him seriously as a presidential candidate. After all, she reasoned, here is a man who stars in his own television reality series. Who could possibly engender less gravitas than a TV reality show star? Trump, of course, pointed to the success of the show as further evidence of his ability to be successful at anything and everything. During the 8 o’clock hour of NBC’s “Today” an unknown male jumped the barrier of the shows outdoor set. B-roll footage was playing at the time so he was not seen but a scream from host Meredith Viera can be heard along with yelling from the would be assailant. After a few seconds of dead air Anne Curry came on and began the news. Once the news finished the shot came back to Viera, and the rest of the crew, sitting on the couch discussing what happened and thanking the security crew. Video after the jump.

Meridith Viera seemed a bit annoyed that she was interviewing the newly elected Republican Scott Brown instead of Democrat Martha Coakley now that Massachusetts voters made their choice in the Tuesday special election for the open Senate seat there. Viera did her level best to phrase the results of the election in an agenda driven way but Scott Brown wasn't taking the bait. In fact, he proved exactly why he was elected over the bumbling Coakley. Poor Meredith Viera. While interviewing McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt this morning she kept asking why the press isn't liked. Schmidt answered firmly, noting that pointed questions were focused at Palin and McCain while hinting the Obama doesn't receive the same harsh treatment. Maybe the MSM is finally getting the picture.

I just turned on the Today Show and saw Meredith Viera repeatedly interrupting the First Lady -- it was incredibly rude and disrespectful -- I couldn't bear to watch it, so I turned it off after about 1 minute. Whatever happened to respect and civility in this country? Is this what the mainstream media thinks we want to watch?
