One of the several downsides in watching too much football this past weekend was watching too many TV commercials. And although I had grown used to the “stupid white man” trope, now a staple of comic advertising, I was unprepared for AT&T’s impressively racist and sexist “Just OK is not OK” campaign. The larger message of the campaign is that “when it comes to wireless networks, just OK is not OK.” According to some dubious test, AT&T is allegedly “America’s best network.” To launch this concept, AT&T and its marketing geniuses at the Omnicom Group designed a series of scenarios...

ATT was in my neighborhood today promoting U-verse. I haven't had any experience with it and have been on Time Warner for a long time. Is Uverse any better than Time Warner? Time Warner over the past year has been a disappointment in a lot of areas. I'm more interested in data and internet than TV and plan to keep the POTS line. ATT offers a dedicated 24 meg line. TWC is 20ish and a lot of times I don't think it's that much. It's probably shared through the area. I've run speed tests and got anywhere from 15-19.

Thinking about dumping comcast and going to Att-Uverse. My sis-in-law has it on her analogue TV, with wireless to her laptop and she likes the DVR. What to my fellow FReepers have to say about it? I want the 400 channel lineup, max Internet and their Voice phone service...all for about $200/mo. saving me about $50/mo with Comcast. Would have it for three HD sets, desktop and two laptops. Read lots of on line reviews, both pro and con, however, FReepers always have the best advice. Do they have to rewire with fiber-optic cable all over the house? G
