Ex-city Department of Buildings Commissioner Eric Ulrich allegedly ran a years-long scheme doling out political favors in exchange for more than $150,000 in bribes — including a $10,000 Mets season tickets package and a bespoke suit, Manhattan prosecutors alleged Wednesday. The charges against Ulrich, 38, span five indictments and relate to his time serving in three political posts — including his days as a Queens councilman and his stint as an adviser to Mayor Eric Adams, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said. Normally, the only question regarding Gotham congressional races is how left-wing the Democratic victor will be. In anything now regarding Anthony Weiner, the circumstances are hardly normal. On its surface, NY9 is bedrock Democrat. A Republican has not represented any portion of it in decades—and Weiner's predecessor was none other than his mentor, Sen. Chuck Schumer....

Viana do Castelo, June 29 (Lusa) - A German citizen arrested in Lisbon by the Judicial Police for alleged paedophilia lived for two decades in Vila Nova de Cerveira, which was viewed as benemérito and has even been bestowed with the Medal of Merit of the county. "Na altura [1994], estávamos longe de imaginar que esse cidadão [Ulrich Schulz] pudesse vir a ser indiciado pelo crime de pedofilia, tanto assim que a decisão de lhe atribuir a medalha de mérito mereceu a aprovação unânime do Executivo", disse, à Lusa, o presidente da Câmara de Vila Nova de Cerveira. "At the...

NEW YORK — The scandal engulfing the United Nations Procurement Department () now appears to be bottomless. It also shows signs of growing more sinister, especially where it involves a mysterious private company called IHC Services (), which did big business with the procurement department until it was removed from U.N. rosters in June. New details of how dark the scandal could prove to be have emerged from the private sale of IHC on June 3, 2005, just as the procurement scandal was about to break. It now appears that while doing business with the U.N., IHC had links both to Saddam...
