Peugeot have introduced a new 2.2 twin turbo HDi diesel engine to the 607 range. Using sequential twin parallel turbochargers, a world-first on a four-cylinder diesel car, the new diesel engine produces 170bhp. The price, excluding works, is E53,305. At low engine speeds, just a single turbocharger operates. It is then supported by a second turbocharger, which starts to operate in parallel between 2600-3200 rpm, according to the applied load and atmospheric conditions.
