MSNBC host Touré landed in hot water over the weekend when he said that Holocaust survivors were able to rebound so quickly in part due to the “power of whiteness.” Anti-defamation groups took issue with the comment and demanded that Touré apologize. On Tuesday, the MSNBC host did apologize for his remark, but was careful to note that the nuance of his argument was inhibited by the limitations imposed on Twitter users by the site’s character limit.
