Former Rep. T.J. Cox (D-CA), who was part of the 2018 “blue wave” election that brought Democrats and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) back to power, was indicted Tuesday on 28 federal counts, including fraud and campaign contribution fraud. Among the charges is one that Cox fraudulently claimed to have purchased a property as his primary residence. Cox faced allegations during the 2018 campaign that his real “principal residence” was in Maryland and that he did not actually live in California. It is unclear whether the indictment concerns Cox’s attempt to prove that he lived in California in that race.

Republican David Valadao has defeated incumbent Rep. T.J. Cox (D-CA) in the close race for California’s 21st congressional district, according to Decision Desk. Valadao avenged his loss in the Central Valley district in 2018, when Cox narrowly defeated the three-term congressman by less than 900 votes as mail-in ballots were counted. Though Valadao was leading on Election Night, Cox won the race several weeks later.

Since the start of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, Democrats have wanted the National Park Service to shut down parks or slowly open facilities across the nation. Despite his party's push to limit how Americans spend their time, particularly outdoors, Congressman TJ Cox (D-CA) pulled strings to get into Yosemite National Park on the 4th of July. Cox, whose district falls close to Yosemite, had his staff request two parking passes for a personal visit to the park. At the time, people could request one of 340 tickets available. Tickets were given on a lottery basis. Because Cox was wanting to...

Republicans on a House Natural Resources Committee subpanel successfully managed on Tuesday to force a motion to adjourn at the start of a hearing on climate change due to the number of Democratic absences. Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations ranking member Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) kicked off the hearing — titled The Denial Playbook: How Industries Manipulate Science and Policy from Climate Change to Public Health — by arguing the topics didn't fall under the panel’s purview. “This is now the seventh Oversight hearing related to climate change that the majority is holding this month, starting with a full committee hearing....

A House race in California that was previously called in favor of Rep. David Valadao (R-Calif.) has been called into question, with Democrat T.J. Cox pulling ahead Monday in the vote count. The Associated Press on Monday said it was retracting its call in the race after previously declaring that Valadao had been reelected. "No new call will be made until the results are certified," the AP wrote in a tweet. --- The race in California's 21st Congressional District, which includes the San Joaquin Valley, is the last contested race in the country. Cox holds a 438-vote lead as of...
