Since the start of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, Democrats have wanted the National Park Service to shut down parks or slowly open facilities across the nation. Despite his party's push to limit how Americans spend their time, particularly outdoors, Congressman TJ Cox (D-CA) pulled strings to get into Yosemite National Park on the 4th of July.
Cox, whose district falls close to Yosemite, had his staff request two parking passes for a personal visit to the park. At the time, people could request one of 340 tickets available. Tickets were given on a lottery basis.
Because Cox was wanting to visit on a national holiday and not in a business capacity, it was clear to Bigelow this was a personal trip.
After Austin's call with Cox, the trip was changed from "personal" to "business."
The preferential treatment has Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), the head of the House Western Caucus, wanting the Department of the Interior to investigate.
"Use of ones status as a Member of Congress in an attempt to influence an Executive Branch employee to acquire preferential treatment for personal gain is a breach of that public trust," Gosar wrote in his letter to the Interior Department on Aug. 3.

Instant Gratification is a congressman’s middle name.
That Democrat Cox is a real dick.
I know.
I apologize.
My Mom is embarrassed for me.
I want what I want, when I want it! Typical spoiled Democrat Congress critter...
As well she should be. Mine is spinning in her final resting place.
I visited several National Parks out west last summer and at least half of the tourists were European.
At home, I spend a lot of time in national forests and recreation areas and although they are about 10% of the population around here, I would say half of the visitors are of Mexican or Central American descent.
Are you in California, Arizona or Texas?
Fair numbers of Chinese and/or Koreans at the National Forest Campground I was at a few weeks ago, too.
speaking of hypocrisy=- blatant-
Seattle police chief denounces ‘mob rule’ after she became the mob’s point of interest- Note how she says it’s not right because she’s an ‘elected official’- she certainly was never concerned with citizens being the singled out by the mobs- but now by golly she’s complaining because she experienced what many citizens have been forced to face-
“I urge both of you, and the entire council, to stand up for what is right. These direct actions against elected officials, and especially civil servants like myself, are out of line with and go against every democratic principle that guides our nation,” Best wrote.

On Memorial Day weekend, the Michigan governor’s husband wanted his boat put in the water ahead of others and asked the marina employee if he knew who he was.

By the way, my comment was not directed at you. I was piling on your comment about the Cox dude. Sorry if you took it that way!
Western North Carolina! Pisgah and Nantahalla National Forests
Out west, there are far more Japanese and Chinese visiting National Parks than American Blacks.
Blacks apparently sequester themselves in cities and have no desire to go anywhere even though great expense and effort by the national parks to cater to the very restricted black participation in what ever is the park topic.
The most commonly seen black people in National Parks and Monuments are children on compulsory school outings.
One wonders...... why
No problem.
You ought to hear the names my Mom calls me.
