Republicans on the House Committee on Homeland Security have slammed Customs and Border Protection (CBP) after the agency deleted a press release that detailed the arrest of two Yemeni illegal immigrants who were identified on a terrorism watch list. On Monday, CBP announced how two Yemeni nationals who were placed on the FBI's terror watchlist were arrested in California after crossing illegally from Mexico into the United States. But the announcement was deleted from the CBP website and Twitter account on Tuesday, on the grounds of 'national security'.

Two Yemeni men apprehended in recent weeks while crossing the U.S. southern border have been found to be suspected terrorists on an FBI watch list. U.S. border patrol agents found one individual about three miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry on Jan. 29. Nearly 3,000 pounds of stolen ammonium nitrate are unaccounted for in North Carolina, even as the U.S. braces itself against a possible al Qaeda truck bomb attack. Two and a half tons of ammonium nitrate were stolen from a Royster-Clark fertilizer plant in Winston-Salem, N.C. in early July, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department, consisting of one hundred 50-pound bags.
