The President returned from Camp David on Saturday and hosted a Tee Ball game on Sunday. The Vice President concluded his overseas trip with meetings in Italy on Saturday and Sunday and has now boarded AF2 for what I presume is the flight back to the US. Sunday evening the President and First Lady had dinner at the private residence of Clay and Ann Johnson in Washington. A Fayette County tee-ball coach was arraigned on felony charges yesterday that he bribed a 7-year-old player to throw a baseball at a mentally disabled teammate's face to keep the boy out of a game. State police said Mark Downs Jr., 27, of Dunbar, offered his star player $25 on June 27 to hit an 8-year-old autistic child with a baseball because he wanted to win the game. Yesterday saw the first Tee Ball game of the season on the White House Lawn. Education Secretary Margaret Spellings was the first base coach and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson acted as third base coach. The President Went to Church at St. John's on Sunday and participated later in the day in a Tee Ball game on the South lawn of the White House. Monday, July 12th, the President flew to Oak Ridge, Tennessee for a speech on defense of America and to talk about and view radioactive materials put safely in TN vaults from Libya. After returning to the White House, the President met with the new President of El Salvador, who pledged his support and troops for Iraq.
