A harsh critic of John Kerry's Vietnam war record is out with a brand new book entitle "Unfit For Command." Author John O'Neill is a Texas lawyer and a Vietnam veteran. Joining us now with more on O'Neill and his controversial book, CNN's Brian Todd -- Brian. BRIAN TODD, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Wolf, this is a very emotional personal story between men who fought in one of America's most divisive wars. And it's by no means coincidental that this story is heating up to fever pitch right now. (BEGIN VIDEOTAPE) TODD (voice-over): In his final sprint toward a life's ambition, John...

As more instances of Sen. John Kerry telling a story about his spending Christmas 1968 in Cambodia come to light, his campaign has yet to address the charge of fellow veterans that the presidential candidate's account is a lie. As of press time, neither WorldNetDaily nor Fox News Channel has received a response to the charges from Kerry's staff, despite repeated requests. As WorldNetDaily reported, the authors of the best-selling book "Unfit for Command," which refutes many of Kerry's war stories, claim that despite the senator's 1986 speech on the floor of the U.S. Senate mentioning spending Christmas Eve in...

This is part two of a two part series on Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry's controversial tour of duty as a Swift Boat captain during the Vietnam War. CBN.com – WASHINGTON - It has been 30 years since the Swift Boat Navy veterans, now watching film clips from the Kerry campaign, served in Vietnam with the Democratic presidential nominee. One Swiftee commented, "All the time he had that camera, making pictures." Another said, "I recognize the one where he's prancing around, dragging his M-16 in the mud - that's the cover of 'Tour of Duty' (Kerry's latest book)." For two...

'Unfit for Command' author to sign books Jerome Corsi will participate in ' Vietnam Vets for the Truth' fund-raiser Posted: August 11, 20041:00 a.m. Eastern © 2004 WorldNetDaily.com A Vietnam veterans group opposing Sen. John Kerry's bid for the White House is featuring one of the authors of the blockbuster "Unfit for Command" at its fund-raising dinner next week. The dinner, sponsored by Vietnam Vets for the Truth, is meant to raise money for a Washington, D.C., rally next month. The group says it represents a majority of veterans of the war who contend the Democratic nominee is unfit to be commander...

Wednesday, August 11, 2004 Kerry's SWIFT meltdown Posted: August 11, 20041:00 a.m. Eastern By Hugh Hewitt © 2004 WorldNetDaily.com At this writing, the Kerry campaign has not yet responded to the media meltdown that is occurring around John Kerry's four decades of stories built on his secret, illegal missions into Cambodia during the four months he skippered a SWIFT boat. It is impossible to stonewall a story that broke out of the blogosphere and into the major media on Monday night and Tuesday morning, so eventually John Kerry is going to have to stand by his wildly implausible tales of cross-border...

Having read Unfit for Command, Tony Blankley concludes that there is no middle ground between the Kerry defenders and the Kerry accusers, no room for mistaken impressions or honest disagreement. As hard as it is to believe, Blankley writes, the truth is either that Kerry’s accusers are stone-cold total liars, or that his defenders are stone-cold total liars. Blankley clearly leans toward the latter alternative. The idea that Kerry is such a massive liar does not seem impossible to me. For one thing, I had decided by early 2004 that Kerry was the biggest phony and the biggest liar I...

<p>Check out this, which Captain Ed mentioned at the bottom of a post regarding some of the Swift Boat stories. I have blogged about it here as well.</p>
<p>On March 13, 1969, Rassmann, a Green Beret, was traveling down the Bay Hap river in a boat behind Kerry’s when both were ambushed by exploding land mines and enemy fire coming from the shore. Kerry was hit in the arm, while a mine blew Rassmann’s boat out of the water. With enemy fire coming from both sides of the river and swift boats evacuating from the area, Kerry’s crew chose to turn their boat toward the ambush to save Rassmann.</p>

This is part one of a two part series on Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry's controversial tour of duty as a Swift Boat captain during the Vietnam War. CBN.com – WASHINGTON - It is a presidential portrait. John Kerry cruising Boston harbor with his band of brothers from Vietnam, 12 Navy veterans vouching for his military record. But other veterans who also served with Kerry are painting a different picture. One says, "He is lying about his record. He dishonored his country. I served with John Kerry. He cannot be trusted." The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth is a group...

NewsMax.com's "Left Coast" reporter James Hirsen has the latest on Democratic Party counterattack plans for the bombshell new book, "Unfit for Command."Michael Moore’s factually challenged waste of celluloid has been publicly embraced by top dog Dems like DNC ringleader Terry McAuliffe, Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin and others. John Kerry also recently used Moore-generated scenes to smear the president. But curiously, when over 200 decorated veterans created a one-minute TV spot expressing their views on the Dem candidate’s war record, McAuliffe and his Democrat buds squealed for the White House to declare war on these "partisan liars.” Sources indicate that a...

Having viewed the exchange between David Corn and Chris Horner this morning on Fox, I have decided to actively fight this argument that..."The Swiftboat Vets were not there."...that Corn and the other MSM wankers keep putting out. Chris Horner did his best to refute Corn, but was shouted down nonetheless. As a result, I have begun sending emails to as many media sources as possible pointing out the following: 1.) Most of the talking heads commenting on the Swiftboat Vets claims have not been in the military and have no idea what they are talking about. 2.) Most of them...

Will Kerry's supporters stop at nothing? The cover of the new anti-Kerry book, Unfit for Command, set to hit shelves soon, has been given an alternative, pro-Kerry cover at the Barnes & Noble online store. The title of the book has been changed to Fit for Command, and the cover image has been changed from a close-up of a finger-pointing Kerry to a picture of Kerry in uniform with other Vietnam veterans. (The book currently sits at #7 on the Barnes & Noble Top 100 and at #2 on Amazon.) The book, which challenges the "war hero" status of John...

Captain Ed has the complete text of the letter that Swift Boat Veterans for Truth spokesman John O'Neill has sent to television stations in response to the Kerry campaign's threat to sue them if they run the veterans' ad. O'Neill's letter is absolutely devastating. If the facts surrounding John Kerry's fabrication of claims about his Vietnam service, and his slander of his fellow servicemen after he returned home after a mere four months in Vietnam, were widely known, Kerry would not stand a chance in November. One key Kerry fabrication is the "Christmas in Cambodia" story that he has told...

.....On Friday, August 6, the Sun published on page A-6 a story from the Los Angeles Times by Matea Gold called "McCain condemns ad criticizing Kerry war service," with a subhead reading "Spot by veterans group runs in crucial states, says he lied about wounds." Considering that this headline and story spanned six columns, it's amazing what's not reported. The gist of it is that an attack ad campaign is running in the "toss-up" states that has some other Swift boat Vietnam-era military men claiming John Kerry was not injured in Vietnam. The story isn't about whether or not the...

SWIFT BOAT VETS LETTER TO TV STATIONS [08/09 12:52 PM] The Swift Boat Vets have a counter-letter to television stations. http://swift1.he.net/~swiftvet/article.php?story=20040808144320243 The more one hears from these guys, the more one wants a comprehensive, detailed, point-by-point rebuttal from the Kerry folks, not this "they're all crazy right wingers" defense. If the Swifties are lying, then it ought to be easy to prove. Instead, they're the ones who are citing eyewitness testimony, affidavits, records, the Globe biography of Kerry, etc.

The purpose of this letter is to present some of the factual support for the advertisement "Any Questions?" produced and used by Swift Boat Veterans For Truth ("Swiftvets"), an organization properly registered under Internal Revenue Code § 527, and which has filed all required reports. Swiftvets is an organization led by Rear Admiral Roy Hoffmann, USN (retired), Commander of all Swift boats in Vietnam during the period of John Kerry's four-month abbreviated tour in Swift boats between late November 1968 and mid-March 1969. A list of the 254 members may be found on www.swiftvets.com. A large majority of those who...
