When all is said and done … when all the punditry are talking about the events of the day in another month or two, this one fact will become glaringly obvious: John Kerry was defeated by the Viet Nam vets he smeared in 1971. As this campaign came to a close, John Kerry tried his best to avoid mentioning Viet Nam. How did this dramatic turn of events occur? Who took Kerry’s strongest sales point away? The ghost of Viet Nam, invoked by Kerry, came back to haunt this deeply flawed man. It was poetic justice rarely found outside of...

"We are pleased with the fact that we were able to effectively bring attention to our issues and raise questions regarding Senator Kerry’s character, leadership ability and qualifications as a potential Commander in Chief. As we have stated since we formed, we believed that John Kerry’s actions in Vietnam, coupled with the reprehensible statements he made after he returned were serious and consequently made him unfit for command. The primary purpose of our organization was to provide a voice for the courageous and honorable veterans of Vietnam, more than 280 Swift Boat Vets, Coast Guardsmen and POWs who served their...

Does anybody have a picture of the two fighters flying side by side, with arrows between the pilot and navigator saying "Served together", and an arrow between the two pilots saying "Did not serve together"? I have friend who I thought was pretty bright, but he fooled me by saying the swiftboat vets were discredited, that none of the swift vets served with Kerry, blah, blah, blah.

A wave of new television ads cropped up over the weekend after a Vietnam veterans group critical of Kerry's wartime service bought $500,000 of airtime in Minnesota alone for the final three days. The Swift Boat Veterans and POWs for Truth have spent $19.5 million nationwide questioning Kerry's service and his decision to speak out against the war after having fought in it. The ad buy is huge by Minnesota standards. Political campaigns typically spend no more than $250,000 for a full week's advertising. The ads brought a quick response from the Democrats, who brought in a former POW and...

Link To Orlando Swift Boat Veterans Rally Pictures Good evening everyone. Glad to see my fellow FReepers down at Lake Eola this evening. Forgive me, I don't remember the names of the people I met tonight, Matchett-PI was there. Hopefully the rest will log in and give their own reports of what happened. I work just across the street from the bandstand and was able to make it out around 4:30. I have a lot of great pictures, but as of right now have no place to upload them to get them posted. If someone would like to volunteer I...

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A Vietnam veterans group that has spent $19.5 million attacking John Kerry's military record and character bought $500,000 in Minnesota TV advertising time on Friday for the presidential campaign's final three days. "We had some extra donations and figured that Minnesota would be a good place to put the money," said Chris LaCivita, a strategist for the Swift Boat Veterans and POWs for Truth. Steven Schier, a Carleton College political scientist, said that "you wouldn't see an ad buy like this" if Minnesota were not "ground zero in the presidential race."

A non-profit Florida group is purchasing air time this weekend in major markets in eight battleground states to show a 30-minute television special featuring Swift Boat Veterans and POWs for Truth, the group challenging Sen. John Kerry's version of his war record and his antiwar activities. With 13 stations already lined up, including five in Florida, Campaign Truth says it can broadcast the special on three more stations if it can raise an additional $15,000 by noon Eastern time today.

(an e-mail from the swift vets) We did it! Thanks to wonderful citizens such as you, we have raised enough money to get our message into Pennsylvania. Our ads started playing this morning. The importance of this cannot be understated. We have obtained an email from the Kerry campaign which proves his campaign has been actively blocking the ability of the POWs to have their video Stolen Honor played. Three different venues have been booked in the Philadelphia area, and in each instance, the facility cancelled after various threats. It just seems so unfair to us that a man like...

TAMPA - Swift Vets and POWs for Truth, a political organization attacking John Kerry's Vietnam War record, has launched another broadside with a $3.2 million ad buy in Florida - several times the size of a previous purchase. In the final stretch of a bitter race between Kerry and President Bush, the organization is airing two ads locally and plans to continue through Election Day, members said Wednesday in Tampa. The $3.2 million figure cited by the group is unusually large, and it means a typical Florida TV viewer may see either one of the ads about 20 times. An...

The media are too busy repackaging old Iraq news in an October offensive against President George W. Bush's reelection to investigate truly startling evidence unearthed this week that the Communist Party may have been directing John Kerry's anti-war activities in the early 1970s. The evidence, contained in captured communist records on file at the Vietnam Center at Texas Tech University, shows a well-coordinated effort by the Communist Party to recruit American servicemen and officers to become part of the American anti-war movement. The objective was to organize high-profile activities to undermine support for the Vietnam War, including holding hearings on...

The statement released on http://www.VetsforBush.NET states, "He slandered and dishonored all Vietnam Veterans in false and exaggerated testimony before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee." The Veterans demand that Senator Kerry sign the Standard Form 180 to release all his...

In a new TV special, set to air later this week, John Kerry's fellow Swift Boat veterans have harsh words for the former "war hero." Captain George Elliott says he believes Kerry should have been removed from command, and possibly even thrown out of the Navy. Elliott was commander of Coastal Division 11, where Kerry spent his four short months of active duty in Viet Nam. Fellow Swift Boat vet Steve Gardner is even tougher – he says Kerry could well have been court-martialed, had the chain of command known then what they know now. These and other first-person interviews...
